This Thursday I'm in Brussels for Cloud Agora, an event organised by the European Commission. I'm there with the Schengen Cloud Alliance, where Clever Cloud, DEEP and OVHcloud combine infrastructure, platform and sovereign operations into one complete European cloud stack. Three European companies that could compete, choosing instead to combine what they each do best. Instead of a pile of parts to assemble itself, an institution gets one complete European stack. Clever Cloud is third in the EU-Tech 300 ranking, published last week, in the Cloud Computing category. EU-Tech 300 gives an objective score to almost all European digital players and builds a top 5 by category. It gives buyers a public, readable reference point when they start looking at their dependencies, from SME leaders to public procurement teams. For @clever_cloud, this is very good news. But the real good news is collective: the European ecosystem is gaining visibility. Being sovereign is good. Ce matin, le Comité Stratégique de Filière "Logiciels et Solutions Numériques de Confiance" organisait sa rencontre grands donneurs d'ordre / clouders, en présence d'@ALehenanff , ministre déléguée chargée de l'Intelligence artificielle et du Numérique. Une trentaine de grandes entreprises françaises autour de la table, des fournisseurs cloud français en face, et une question centrale : qu'est-ce qui bloque concrètement la migration vers le cloud français ? L'enquête menée par la Direction interministérielle du numérique (DINUM) et @Michelin auprès de ces mêmes grands comptes donne une réponse sans ambiguïté : ce n'est pas l'absence de fonctionnalités avancées. C'est le manque de preuves de maturité opérationnelle. Et parmi les quatre sujets qui arrivent en tête des déclencheurs de migration, l'IAM (gestion des identités) est cité par 69 % des répondants. J'ai essayé d'y répondre concrètement lors de mon intervention sur scène ce matin. Le marché de l'identité en entreprise est dominé par deux ou trois acteurs — Microsoft en tête, Okta qui a gagné du terrain et AWS. Ce que peu de gens savent : l'alternative existe, elle est open source, et une partie substantielle de sa compétence est française. Keycloak est déjà utilisé à grande échelle par de nombreuses entreprises dans les secteurs bancaires, défense, énergie, transports, etc. Les compétences pour l'opérer à grande échelle existent — y compris chez les plus grandes ESN et bien sûr chez des experts comme please-open.it. Techniquement, Keycloak peut aller encore plus loin que les autres IAM, par exemple nous avons plusieurs clients qui l’utilisent en multicloud réel réparti sur @OVHcloud , @Scaleway et @clever_cloudFR. Et d’un point de vue budget, utiliser Keycloak par rapport à un #IAM propriétaire permet de réduire drastiquement la facture. La migration sur l'identité est probablement le sujet le plus compliqué de la stack. Mais les compétences sont là, les références existent (par exemple, notre Keycloak as a Service), et les entreprises ayant la compétences pour aider à la migration aussi. Le sujet n'est plus "est-ce que c'est possible". Il est "par où on commence".
