We're testing some new rate limiting on clicky.com to keep bots at bay. It's mostly just challenges, but repeated bad auth for user login or any of our APIs will result in a (temporary) hard block.
There will certainly be some hiccups, so let us know👀
Just to clarify - we've always had bad auth rate limiting *internally*, but this new stuff is on Cloudflare and is in addition to what we already had going on.
But again, let us know if you encounter any unexpected issues, especially with API calls!
We've made a permanent exception for proxy tracking with Cloudflare's bot management. The issue is the TLS fingerprint ("JA4") of the web server doesn't match the user agent, which is one of many red flags for bots.
You'd think this would make the internet unusable for anyone using a VPN, but major VPNs all have their own unique fingerprints + known IP pools, so I'm assuming they get some exceptions here, with perhaps a default higher sus level because, well... VPN.
Some issues with proxy tracking last 24 hours. Looks like @Cloudflare changed something with their managed rules, based on this huge spike in blocks starting ~1:30pm PST yesterday. We're working on figuring out which new rules are the issue so we can disable them.

reCAPTCHA was broken for a few days, as bot attacks made us exceed the free 10K/mo threshold, & somehow there was no billing attached, despite paying for other Google services with same account. Google didn't notify us of any issues, they just shut it off.
So that's fixed now.
We're going to release user agent filters very soon, to block AI/bot traffic as you see fit, like you already can with countries etc.
We update our global filters weekly, but it keeps getting harder to do that without too many false positives affecting other sites.
There may be a few blips this evening while we fix the networking on one of our servers, as it's been misbehaving since we had to move around all the ethernet cables last week. Likely just a bad cable issue, but we'll see.
We're at the data center today to replace this faulty network switch. There may be some brief moments of network unavailability in the next few hours. We'll let you know when we're all done!
clicky.com has been added to a few threat databases recently. Please submit false positive reports to help resolve this ASAP.
Note, you must disable all ad-blockers & VPNs first, or the report will be rejected.
