It was great to join this Ministerial visit to Ystradgynlais banking hub with @JaneHutt and @MarkDrakeford on behalf of @LINK_ATM_Scheme.
A real example of how industry, government and local elected representatives are working together to meet the cash needs of communities.
High street banking is back in Ystradgynlais💷
Local people can once again use face-to-face banking services after the opening of a new shared banking hub.
Find out more about the hub below👇

At the fantastic and very popular Northern Broadsides and @CultureDale2024 “Iron People” event at @eurekamuseum!
So much fun for the kids and very educational!
I’m abseiling down the massive Wainhouse Tower next month for the Mayors charity, St Augustine’s Centre.
I’ve never abseiled before so it’s pretty terrifying!
If anyone can chip in a few bob I’d be really grateful: justgiving.com/page/adamwilk…

We introduced a council tax exemption for @Calderdale foster carers last year.
Find out more about the benefits of fostering and how you could transform a vulnerable child’s life.👇
Foster carers don’t all pay council tax - do you know all the financial benefits available for supporting a young person?

🚀 Some good news!
Yesterday the government amended the Children’s Wellbeing Bill to extend ‘corporate parenting duties’ for children in care & care leavers beyond local authorities to include:
- all government departments
- schools and FE colleges
- NHS bodies
- inspectors

I swear the BBC just have Sophie Ellis Bextor and Craig David on rotation every year. Whoever their agents are must be playing a blinder.

Brilliant audience contribution 👏

Brilliant to take part in Takeover Day with dozens of our children and young people shadowing @Calderdale councillors and council officers for the day.
Thanks to @Kate_Dearden also for allowing us to join her on a constituency visit.
A victory for hate, discrimination, misinformation, felony, autocracy, misogyny, climate denial, trade barriers, global insecurity and most of all for Putin.
A dark day.

“Bob Dylan is a figure that arises every three or four hundred years”.
Leonard Cohen - himself a musical hero of mine that I was lucky to see live - captures why I’m currently on my way to Liverpool on my own to see Dylan.
Possibly the greatest singer songwriter of all time.
