I got tired of waiting for proper agent integrations with iMessage on macOS, so I built my own. Free and open-source. Now I can ask "Which of my texts need a reply?", or schedule love notes to my wife. A few highlights: - Dead simple integration with Grok Bot and other agents - Security first: a ton of checks, balances, and filters to prevent prompt injection, or sending unwanted messages. Uses local LLM and Jev (optional) - One simple Mac app. Not a bunch of scripts to duct tape together Get it at cmer.github.io/imessage-brid…

We have Carney putting up to $1.6 billion of taxpayer money into Cohere, an AI company, "on a commercial basis." Simple question here that nobody seems willing to ask: If it's such a good commercial bet, where's the commercial money? Remember six weeks ago? Carney's Investment Summit? The one that was supposed to bring in all those international asset managers with trillions of dollars under management but ended with Canada's banks pledging about $325 billion and pension funds about $100 billion to "build Canada"? And RBC launched a $1.4 billion fund for high-growth tech? And Radical Ventures, already a Cohere backer, launched a $4 billion fund so Canadian AI companies could "scale up and stay Canadian"? Guess who's leading the new Cohere funding round here that Carney joined in? Germany's Schwarz Group, the owner of Lidl. Who's ending up the backstop? You the taxpayer. So why is Carney playing with this? Because that Canadian money is going to the American labs: • RBC is in the bank group behind OpenAI's credit facility • Ontario Teachers' put their money into Anthropic • Brookfield, Carney's old firm? Joined Anthropic's recent $65 billion round In other words Bay Street is placing bets on Silicon Valley because they like the odds more. So taxpayers get to roll the dice with the domestic one. Also look at the scale because outlets like CTV News sure will not. Anthropic just raised US$65 billion at a US$965 billion valuation. OpenAI raised US$122 billion. Cohere's whole round targets C$7 billion. AI is very "frontier" and with that, like a lot of the sphere, is a capital furnace. Ottawa's $1.6 billion won't even come close to closing that gap. It's amount is equivalent to a rounding error on a Silicon Valley term sheet. And this is on top of the $240 million Ottawa already gave Cohere in 2024. And, of course, the detailed terms are undisclosed as per Carney's "School of Trust Me Bro". And Cohere had to sign a pledge to stay Canadian after merging with a German company a few months ago. When the banks and pension funds Carney toasted in September won't write the cheque, that's Mr. Market doing the talking and the answering at the same time.

We're watching businesses turn into dinosaurs in real time. I had an AI agent research a new dryer, compare models, and find the best deal. It got all the way to checkout before the retailer blocked it for being "suspicious". That is on a residential IP. A customer was ready to spend $1,500, and the retailer's technology actively prevented the sale. Imagine being so stuck in the past that you treat a customer trying to give you money as a security threat. AI isn't costing these businesses sales. Their refusal to adapt is.

Everyone said "Hey Grok" was impossible on iPhone. Even Grok said Apple keeps wake words for Siri only. So I kept digging, and I found a way. Now I just say "Hey Grok" and Grok Bot voice chat opens. No extra apps, no cost, all built into iOS. How to set it up: 1. Make sure your Grok Bot app is up to date 2. Shortcuts app → + → Add Action → search "Grok Bot" → pick "Start Voice Chat with Bot" 3. Settings → Accessibility → Vocal Shortcuts → Set Up → pick that shortcut → type "Hey Grok" and say it 3 times 4. In the shortcut's details, turn on "Allow Running When Locked" If your phone is locked, iOS asks for one tap first. If Face ID already unlocked it, it's fully hands-free.

I hate woke AI. "I couldn’t make the changes. Even with your approval, the permission check in this session blocked every click on the settings page, so you’ll need to do these yourself. Nothing was saved."

There was this $10 Mac app I was interested in. My first reaction: pfff! I can vibe that! $755 later, it's almost ready!

I built a piece of software that's quietly become one of the most useful things I run. It's called MCP Switchboard, and the idea is simple: connect all your MCP servers and APIs in one place, then control exactly which AI agents can access what. Here's how I use it every day: - Bookkeeping agent: Searches my Paperless document archive, Xero, reads financial statements, and collaborates directly with my bookkeeper. - HR agent: Accesses my HR software, payroll and group benefits tools, but has zero visibility into my personal life. - Home agent: Controls Home Assistant, my pool robot, irrigation system, and home network. - Main assistant: Has broader access to email, calendars, documents, monitoring, and more. I have multiple Hermes Agent profiles, GrokBot, Claude Code, ChatGPT/Codex, Claude Desktop, and Cursor all connected to the same switchboard. Here's where it gets interesting: I have roughly 40 MCP servers connected, but they only consume ~1,000 tokens of context. Instead of dumping hundreds of tool definitions into every agent's context, MCP Switchboard lets agents discover and load tools on demand. They only see what they need, when they need it. Adding a new integration takes seconds. Connect it once, enable it for the agents that need it, and you're done. Everyone else remains completely unaware it exists. OAuth, credentials, and token renewal are all managed centrally. No more configuring the same integrations across six different AI tools. One place to manage everything. Granular permissions. Almost zero context overhead. It's completely changed how I use AI agents, especially as the number of tools and integrations keeps growing. And it's open source: github.com/cmer/mcp-switchbo…

Grokbot is REALLY good. It proactively brings stuff to my attention, makes connections to previous emails, conversations, just like a human would. It’s fast and effective. And it’s apps are highly polished. This is what Hermes Agent should have been. Well done, @elonmusk !

Some things I’d like to see added: - ability to easily start multiple threads with a bot (I know there’s workarounds but they’re clunky) - a way to see all scheduled jobs (maybe I missed it?) - ability to isolate bots knowledge rather than have them share everything

Major unlock for building complex software with agents: When the work is done, ask your agent to create a full video walkthrough. Every flow. Every edge case. Every dialog. Add voiceover and subtitles. Then sit back and experience the feature like a user would.
