🎉 After six incredible years at Framer, it’s time for my next step. Today, we’re spinning Framer Motion out into its own independent open-source project, to better serve the whole community. Introducing Motion. For React, and now, for everyone.

I thought when I worked at bigger tech companies it would be different. You are legit top 1% if you RTFM
This is my semi-regular encouragement to read the docs straight through. No one does it and it'll give you a massive advantage. You don't even have to remember everything! Having a broad understanding will help you dive deep on specifics as needed.

Sad to see Hacktoberfest move away from t-shirts. Just last week I had a conversation with someone about OSS based on my wearing the shirt from ~2017. I understand it, but still a bummer, especially on the 10th anniversary.

Kinda sad Hacktoberfest is no longer giving out t shirts :( I missed last year's T shirt and was dead set on getting one this year

TypeScript 5.2 will introduce a new keyword - 'using', that you can use to dispose anything with a [Symbol.dispose] function when it leaves scope.

satisfies in TypeScript has been out for a little while now. Overall, it's been a success - but it's starting to cause some confusion. Let's clear it up.

All trains were halted around Amsterdam for more than a day thanks to another outage caused by software, which is still ongoing. It's incredible how little details are shared about such events, which have real-world implications, and the breakdown of a public service.

I hacked into a @Bing CMS that allowed me to alter search results and take over millions of @Office365 accounts. How did I do it? Well, it all started with a simple click in @Azure… 👀 This is the story of #BingBang 🧵⬇️

Pro Tip: use a comma in your password, so if it ends up in a hack dump, it'll break the CSV.

So there's a great Thai restaurant in my neighborhood called Kiin. Yesterday, I searched for their website to order some takeout. Here's the Google result.

An underrated way to attract great engineers to your company (drumroll) Have a great engineering blog. This means ENGINEERS write the blog, not content writers. And they give the "real deal" about challenges, learnings, failures. So few companies do this. A few that do:

SAFe was once interpreted by @martinfowler as Shitty Agile For enterprises. The problem with that is that shitty Agile would be way better than whatever SAFe is.

🧵 I’ve been unpleasantly surprised that some people seem to condone the public criticism of employees and/or the public firing of an employee for responding to this criticism. Here are my thoughts on these topics, which I hope would be obvious to any decent leader. (1/22)
