People keeping control of their content and online presence is more important in the age of AI. Because if you don't have one authoritative outlet that you control while even online search moves to AI chatbots, your content and information about you will be controlled by third parties. Social media at best, opaque AI chatbots at worst. So having and controlling one's own presence on the Internet is a necessity to remain control of your identity and your content. And WordPress is the best tool for that.

Owning their audience is critically important for creators. Platforms can change policies in an instant. Any creator can end up getting deplatformed for any reason. Especially in volatile political environments, its very easy for a platform to be forced to deplatform creators even if it doesn't want to. That's why the creators owning their audience through their own website is the best way to ensure always having a platform - because their websites are their platform. #Creators #CreatorEconomy #ContentCreators #FreedomOfSpeech #WordPress #websites

There was a Node vulnerability announced in the same day with the last major PHP CVE. Node is full of holes, but somehow it's 'better'.

You can try to find Windows packages like sury or remi repositories. Maybe even their ports.

It wasn't a WordPress vulnerability but a PHP vulnerability. And it was fixed as fast as intelligence agencies fix their software when they are hacked. This incident is not a reason to move off of WordPress or PHP - It's a reason to move to them.

A site being on older PHP versions does not mean that it was not patched. Many web hosts and individuals who maintain their infra use repos like sury or remy that patch old PHP versions. Both of those repos were patched as fast as the latest PHP version was patched by the PHP foundation.

AI will kill WordPress? Nope - WordPress will massively benefit from the AI revolution: AI works best with technologies that has a large amount of material available. Especially if it is a technology highly standardized and shares a common language. Because that way, it can be trained much better on that specific technology. Open Source fulfills these requirements. Immense amount of open source software, manual, how-tos exist online. And in Open Source, WordPress is the project that has the largest ecosystem that provides everything from code examples to entire repos, from tutorials to standards. As a result, all AI models work very well with WordPress because they were trained on its immense data. The practical implication of this is that WordPress will be much more accessible and easy to use for non-technical people. As AI is incorporated into WordPress ecosystem seamlessly, WordPress will be able to cater to a larger audience than it used to. #WordPress #AI

Carnage? It was fixed within a day. Faster than how prominent intelligence agencies handle their own systems when hacked.

Just use Sury repos. Those have even PHP 5.6 still security-patched. Including today's CVE. It was rushed out asap.

Sites hosted on our WP Cloud platform were automatically protected against today's PHP vulnerability - no action needed from site owners. That's the kind of peace of mind we build for. pressbard.com/ #PHP #Security #WordPress #WordPressHosting #Hosting #WebsiteHosting

So if you don't have a website that is your creator home or want to make sure that it protects you against deplatforming, drop us a message and we'll help.

That's why it is a great idea to have your own creator website even if you are present on multiple platforms: Your site is your home, and no one can take it away from you.
17
And worse - the platform can suddenly decide to discriminate against certain types of creators or be pressured to do so. It may start moderating their content or outright deplatform them even if it doesn't want to.
22
Most platforms have something that pits you against other creators by showing your members other creators' content. You bring your audience to the platform. But the platform takes control of it.

Because coding is the easy part. Maintaining it isn't.
11
But most importantly, you control how your content is shown to your members and how.
28
You can control your own mailing list, you can own and control your members' subscription payments, you can decide how your content is gated, you can decide what content to post.

If you want to own your audience when running a membership business as a creator, nothing beats WordPress. #WordPress #Membership #Creators
