🚨 LAKE POWELL JUST ROSE ANOTHER 1.5 FEET IN 24 HOURS. THE NUMBERS TELL A REMARKABLE STORY. Lake Powell continues to climb as floodwaters from the San Juan River pour into the reservoir, bringing a significant short-term boost to water levels. But here’s the perspective that really matters. 👇 📈 THE BIG PICTURE: • +1.5 feet in the past 24 hours • 170 feet below full pool • 15 feet below where we stood at this time in 2025 • 47 feet below 2024 levels Now consider this: Utah’s entire spring runoff raised Lake Powell by only about 2 feet this year. The recent surge in inflow is a powerful reminder of just how much water a major storm and flooding event can deliver to the Colorado River system. The San Juan River is a major tributary of the Colorado River, and when it runs high, a substantial volume of that water can eventually make its way into Lake Powell. The reservoir’s response depends on how much water reaches the lake, how long elevated flows persist, and how much water is simultaneously being released downstream. Here’s the reality: This is a significant rebound, but it does not erase the larger water deficit. Lake Powell remains roughly 170 feet below full pool, and we are still well behind the levels recorded over the past two years. The next several days will be important as we watch how much of this floodwater makes it into the reservoir and how quickly the lake continues to rise. Every foot matters. But the long-term water picture is about sustained inflow, snowpack, spring runoff and demand—not just a few days of rapid gains. I’ll keep tracking the numbers and breaking down what they mean for Lake Powell, Glen Canyon Dam and the Colorado River system.

If all the idiots from all the villages left and formed their own village, Trump would be the idiot of THAT village!

“Elon Musk approached Donald Trump with the idea of slowing down Starlink in Ukraine, The Telegraph can reveal. The billionaire tech entrepreneur approached the US president with the proposal to introduce speed limits on the system, which hampered Ukraine’s drone defences, according to four sources familiar with the discussions. One of the sources said Mr Trump “agreed” with Mr Musk’s suggestion, paving the way for the Pentagon to execute the slowdown on Starshield, the military-grade version of the satellite communications system.

🚨 A VITAMIN D-BASED DRUG MAY HELP BREAK PANCREATIC CANCER’S HIDDEN DEFENSE — AND THE RESULTS ARE RAISING HOPES Pancreatic cancer is among the deadliest forms of cancer, partly because tumors can surround themselves with a thick layer of supportive tissue. This barrier, made largely of cells called fibroblasts, creates a hostile environment that can keep cancer-fighting immune cells out and make treatment more difficult. But scientists may have found a way to weaken this defense. In a clinical trial, researchers tested paricalcitol, a drug related to vitamin D, alongside standard chemotherapy. The drug is already approved for certain complications of chronic kidney disease. Instead of attacking cancer cells directly, it was designed to change the environment surrounding the tumor — potentially turning the cancer’s own protective territory into a place where treatment could work more effectively. The early results were striking. Among 24 patients with previously untreated metastatic pancreatic cancer who received paricalcitol alongside chemotherapy, 10 experienced partial tumor shrinkage. In the comparison group, which included 12 patients receiving chemotherapy without paricalcitol, only one experienced a partial response. But the most intriguing finding may have been what happened inside the tumors. The treatment appeared to reduce the activity of cancer-associated fibroblasts, helping immune cells called T cells penetrate deeper into the tumor tissue. In other words, researchers weren't simply trying to attack the cancer harder — they were trying to dismantle the defenses that help it survive. There was, however, an important caution. Some patients developed elevated calcium levels, requiring adjustments to their treatment. And because this was an early-phase trial involving just 36 patients, the findings do not yet prove that paricalcitol helps people live longer. Still, the research points toward a fascinating possibility: What if the key to fighting certain cancers is not just destroying the tumor, but first removing the protection that surrounds it? For a disease as difficult to treat as pancreatic cancer, changing the battlefield itself could open a promising new direction for future therapies. Larger studies will be needed to determine whether this approach can deliver lasting benefits. Source: Perez, K. J., et al. (2026). “Gemcitabine and nab-paclitaxel with or without the VDR agonist paricalcitol for metastatic pancreatic cancer: a randomized, multiarm, run-in phase trial.” Nature Cancer.

These projects are partial open-source Rust reimplementations of Adobe apps (built rapidly with AI agents), not complete recreations; their READMEs and roadmaps document many missing features and features still in development. github.com/storytold/phot… github.com/storytold/vect… github.com/storytold/vect… github.com/storytold/film… github.com/storytold/film… github.com/storytold/ligh… getartcraft.com
