Fat Wrappers: The Unbundling of ChatGPT.
Everyone's been dismissing AI wrappers. "OpenAI will kill them all." True for thin wrappers. Not for fat ones.
Thin wrappers are burritos: a clever prompt wrapped in a tortilla UI. They compete on intelligence, which OpenAI owns.
Fat wrappers are burgers: AI in the middle, human buns on both sides. They compete on execution, which OpenAI doesn't want to touch.
Thin wrappers are (AI) tools. Fat wrappers are (agentic) services. Consumers paid $10/month for tools that help them work. They'll pay $100/month for services that do the work. File your taxes. Book your trip. Check your health.
Why? Because AI is middle-to-middle, not end-to-end. Great at drafting, terrible at messy intake and real-world execution. The human edges matter.
Full autonomy is a few years away but hybrid human-AI services work today. While everyone chases better models, the winners will master operations. Great ops is how you turn AI into reliable service delivery.
That's how you compete with (and maybe unbundle) ChatGPT. By owning the complex work of actually getting things done.

Every single partner at @kleinerperkins today started their career as an associate in VC. Even our founder @BrookByers did. The greatest VC of all time @johndoerr did as well. So much for associates!
Fun fact: during Box’s Series B we were in the midst of pivoting to the enterprise, with an untested freemium model, and running out of runway. The strategy was speculative. Every partner we pitched passed, but one associate (@mamoonha) fought to push the deal through, saving us.

.@AOC @GretaThunberg and @paddycosgrave are self-righteous personalities who all did the same thing after learning about the Oct 7 massacre. They stayed silent for many days and then spoke up to condemn Israel as it defended itself. Only once they were criticized did they belatedly condemn Hamas, having forfeited any moral high ground they thought they had.
It goes without saying - or so I thought - that I’m against the horrific attacks by hamas. As I said, “the world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected.”

Hamas are killing their own. the hospital explosion is the result of a missile misfire. an attempt to fire their "most capable" rocket, aimed at Haifa, a city with 300,000 citizens, many of which are Arabs.

The IDF called on the residents of northern Gaza to evacuate so they won’t be harmed. Most Gazan civilians want to do so, but Hamas is stopping them!
Hamas wants them there as a human shield; it wants them to die for their propaganda! Hamas does not care about them.
Hamas is a terrorist organization that commits war crimes against the State of Israel and harms the Palestinian residents too! Every Palestinian citizen who dies is the responsibility of Hamas alone!
