in my defense it was on hegel’s lasting legacy through fichte-schelling-hegel, right + left hegelians; the frankfurt school; the various fields & innovations & of course marx, engels, lenin and mao 🤷🏽

A lot of foodstuff that's central to Japanese identity such as banana, okura, and shrimp are imported from the Global South. Japan's domestic agricultural production also depends largely on agricultural workers migrating from the Global South.

We remain intellectually colonized even though we are politically independent-Utsa Patnaik as she explains how poverty measurement by scholars from the South remains deeply flawed #MemorialLecture
Don’t be gullible. Don’t take anything at face value. Go to the data and study yourself.” -Utsa Patnaik
Brilliant parting words 👏🏽
Patnaik:
The Global Industrial North [OECD + Japan] are completely dependent on the agricultural producing global south for their high consuming living standards. If trade w/ the global South were to cease; the US, Germany, Britain would plummet to late medieval times.
patnaik: you may ask: why do all of these brilliant economists make such idiotic logical mistakes in their poverty figures?
bc they have abandoned philosophy and logic. they are indoctrinated in the world of abstractions. they should stay in pure mathematics and win a nobel.
Oliver Cox:
“…in so far as its scientific validity as a social fact is in question, Marx has nothing whatever to do with it. Marxist hypotheses are `servants, not masters'.
—a sort of rumination of his conclusions, incidental errors and all. If, therefore, parts of this study seem Marxian, it is not because we have taken the ideas of this justly famous writer as gospel, but because we have not discovered any other
Q: Why is a peasant-based revolution necessary not only for the peasant class but for all the basic and struggling social classes?
JMS: If the peasantry is left out of the revolutionary process, you cannot end the semi colonial and semi feudal system.
The heavy and basic industries are the leading factor in a socialist economy but must be complemented by agriculture as the base of the economy serving as the source of food and many raw materials for manufacturing.
