Combating Autism, STILL. 🙏
Thank you, @AgeofAutism and all the beautiful children and parents and families who know this story too well. 🩵🦋
Age of Autism published its first post on November 5, 2007. @AutismActionNet @CombatingAutism That’s 6,938 days ago. Dan Olmsted’s “welcome” post is below. Not one word of what he wrote has changed. Years have passed. Names have changed. Orgs have come and gone. Sponsors have come and gone. We’ve had wins and tremendous losses. But WE ARE STILL HERE. All of us. My daughters were 12, 11 and 7 years old. Sometimes the struggle takes over. Often the exhaustion hardens us. I want every reader to remember; WE ARE THE OG (original gangster) AUTISM REPORTING ORGANIZATION. Robert Kennedy, like Dan, listened to AUTISM MOMS all those years ago. WE educated him on the devastation of vaccination. MAHA exists because our kids paid the price. It’s fancier. Bigger. More bells. More whistles. Spread thin many would say. It raises more money in a single campaign than we have brought in in our entire 19-year history. It’s a political machine. God bless. That’s what runs the country. We’re a cog. We are the little site that could. A community of friends, colleagues, a safe haven for open dialog. Hard questions. Please do not despair in this political climate. We’ve weathered worse. We’ve gotten up and started over 6,938 days and we’ll be here for 6,939.
Our 2026 campaign is alive and well too Laura and Rick Hayes will double your dollar. Your donation is tax deductible. We use safe, secure Stripe and you can use APPLE Pay. Or send us a good old fashioned paper check. ageofautism.com/donate/
Thank you. Cathy will return soon. And please, enjoy these words from our very first post from Dan.

Welcome to Age of Autism, the nation’s first daily Web newspaper for the environmental-biomedical community – those who believe the autism epidemic is a health crisis that requires urgent action; that autism is an environmentally induced illness, that it is treatable, and that children can recover.
For the most part, the major media in the United States aren’t interested in that point of view, they won’t investigate the causes and possible biomedical treatments of autism independently, and they don’t listen to the most important voices – those of the parents. We will do all those things, and more.
To illustrate the difference The Age of Autism will make, consider the way the Baltimore Sun edited a story about Jenny McCarthy, who believes that vaccines triggered her child’s autism and that biomedical treatments are a big part of his remarkable and ongoing improvement. Here are phrases that were taken out of the story that originally ran in the Chicago Tribune, as noted by Anne Dachel, who will be Age of Autism’s media editor:
1) Autism is “something McCarthy believes was triggered by vaccines.” Deleted.
2) “It’s not just that she is voicing the same thing parents have been saying for years (‘We vaccinated our babies and something happened’) on high-profile programs such as The Oprah Winfrey Show and Larry King Live.” Deleted.
3) “DAN! also provides contacts for the approximately 600 doctors in the U.S. who use complementary and alternative therapies to treat autism.” Deleted.
4) “McCarthy wasn’t about to wait for evidence-based medicine; she felt she had a limited window of time to pull her son back into this world.” Deleted.
What the (deleted)!? And what an irony that Baltimore is where autism was first diagnosed, and that the Johns Hopkins psychiatrist who did so was the first of many to miss the environmental clues that could have kept hundreds of thousands more cases from ever happening. How can we trust the mainstream media to cover the autism epidemic when they themselves censor important information and skew the discussion toward the tired old genetic argument? Even the fact that autism rates are soaring – self-evident to anyone with eyes to see, and clear evidence of an environmental trigger – is treated as a big question mark by the media and public health officials Read More ageofautism.com/6938-days-we…

The government is now paying doctors to spend more time treating vaccine adverse effects.
RFK Jr. and Dr. Oz just finalized separate Medicare billing for diagnosing, treating, and counseling patients experiencing these health problems.
Doctors will now have a dedicated payment pathway for taking these cases seriously and spending the time needed to evaluate them.
The change follows HHS’s broader push to strengthen vaccine injury research, reporting, and patient care.
Patients reporting vaccine adverse effects have long said they struggle to find doctors willing or able to devote enough time to their cases.
Now Medicare is creating a specific pathway to support that care.

Yep.
"The problem for GSK, the lawsuit alleged, is that this campaign premise was false. Tdap does not stop pertussis infection or transmission.
In fact, people receiving Tdap can repeatedly become infected with and are capable of transmitting pertussis while remaining asymptomatic, making them more likely to infect a grandchild."
We beat the Big Bad Wolf!
GSK’s “Big Bad Cough” campaign cast unvaccinated grandparents as a danger to their grandchildren. A New York class action over the ads reached a historic settlement, with ICAN’s support.

What is wrong with
these people?
This is unbelievable. 😔
@Madhava_Setty ,
thank you for a voice
of reason.
I'm a Board Certified anesthesiologist and have been in practice for 24 years. I just learned that the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia where I trained has launched a program to increase flu vaccine uptake among children by vaccinating them while under anesthesia.
The program is called "Close your Eyes. We'll Immunize"
This is stunningly irresponsible. Here's why:
Anesthetists are extremely risk avoidant and endeavor to minimize patient exposure to anything which carries potential side effects. This is particularly true of pediatric patients who very often have never been exposed to anesthetic medications. We simply cannot know how an individual child will respond to these drugs for the first time.
Every single medication we administer during an operation can potentially trigger untoward or allergic responses. When this occurs our primary responsibility is to stabilize the patient. Our secondary responsibility is to identify the offending agent. There is absolutely no justification of introducing another agent, in this case a flu vaccine, which carries a risk of harm and contributes nothing to the success of the operation.
Some of the more common side effects of flu vaccines are fever (11-16%) and less commonly, a rash (1%). There is also an non-zero risk of severe allergic reactions and high-grade fevers which can develop over the course of minutes.
What if a child under anesthesia receives a vaccine and develops a rash and/or fever? Is it from the antibiotic that the surgeon requested? Is it from the narcotic? The anxiolytic? The barbiturate?
Anesthetic gases can also (rarely) trigger a life threatening response called Malignant Hyperthermia which commonly presents as a high fever. Without subsequent testing we cannot know which agent was responsible. Most commonly the testing is never done and the child’s record will forever reflect the possibility that some or all of the drugs which were used are responsible for their reaction. This makes future anesthetic care significantly more challenging and will require the use of alternatives which may not be necessary.
Advocating for a flu vaccine while a child is anesthetized reflects the pervasive yet inaccurate attitude among the medical establishment that vaccines are perfectly safe. I simply cannot believe that my mentors would have ever supported this initiative when I was a resident there. Close your eyes indeed.
Once upon a time, this information was
common knowledge.
Shouldn't we always err on the side of caution?
And, shouldn't our guiding principles be ethical?

BREAKING: Pediatric researchers confirm that up to 70% of children with ADHD struggle with intense bedtime anxiety and "brain looping" the exact second the bedroom lights go off.
All day long, external noise keeps an ADHD brain occupied. The moment the room goes dark and silent, their Default Mode Network kicks into overdrive—and their brain hunts for stimulation by replaying every worry, mistake, or scary thought it can find:1/7
