Marian very poor today but that’s a fun Limerick Celtics team. I really like them and how they play together. Most balanced team I’ve seen in person so far this year.

Great win for Neptune. Showed great fight. Demons will be kicking themselves. Too many scouting report mistakes especially the number of times they stood off Hodge. Hard to believe demons are 1-3

Lyndsey listening to Peanut and Malcolm on commentary in the Derby. Who are these two? It’s like the two johnnies do basketball.

Demons v Neptune in Neptune is the best possible Derby match in Irish basketball. What Derby is next best?

Two Munster derbies tonight, both should be good games. Biggest questions I have are what do Eagles look like in a dogfight? And do Neptune have to play a big while Tillman is on? They have been way better playing small so far this year, especially last week.

Another good preview before the double header weekend. The more data that becomes available the more these will get very interesting. superleaguenotebook.substack…

Robert Graham has been big for Star. Shows their depth considering he’ll likely lose out once Paul is back.

Rap already with over 20. The list of Irish players over 6’5 capable of scoring over 20 in the league at the moment, could just be Rap. Most Irish bigs are being played off the floor at the moment.

Given how competitive the NL is getting, the Cup should really be a SL/NL open draw. Even if the rules are different with Americans. NL teams who lose in first two rounds go back into Presidents Cup. Some crap games inevitable but some great ones too.

Have to wonder whether UL will go undefeated at this stage. @NiallMcD

A legend in the Arena. Always made working there better. 💔
This week staff of Basketball Ireland and the National Basketball Arena have been devastated by the passing of our much loved colleague and friend, Sharon Lyons. For over 20 years, she was an integral part of the Arena. Sharon was a familiar and much-loved face to so many, and everyone who visited the Arena knew her and loved her. Her warmth, presence, and the connections she built with people over the years made her such a special part of our community. She will be deeply missed, and her absence will be felt by so many. Our heartfelt thoughts and deepest condolences are with her two daughters Chloe and Harley, her partner Philip and much loved dog Charlie, as well as her wide circle of family and friends at this incredibly difficult time. We hope they can take some comfort in knowing just how loved she was and how many lives she touched throughout her time with us. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam.

Still trying to get over last night. Eagles obviously the headline but I would have chosen Tralee and Demons to win too. Would have had Marian killester closer especially with Killester down an American. Thought Neptune would do enough at home too.

Miles Brown in Sligo changes everything for them as a team. Next week will be interesting, to have only 2 teams unbeaten after 2 weeks is interesting and for them to be Killester and UL is more interesting. Going to be a long attritional year.
