This Australian's reply to Trump's rant about “NATO not being there for America” is perfect. "Mate. You run a country with 600,000 homeless people sleeping on the street tonight. A country where 40% of adults can't cover a $400 emergency without borrowing money. A country where insulin costs more than a car payment and people are rationing it to survive. A country where medical debt is the number 1 cause of bankruptcy. A country where women are dying in hospital car parks because doctors are too scared of abortion laws to treat a miscarriage. You lock up more of your own citizens than any nation on earth. More than China. More than Russia. More than North Korea. The land of the free has 2 million people in cages, and a quarter of them haven't even been convicted of anything. They're just too poor to make bail. Your life expectancy is going backwards. You're the only developed nation where that's happening. Your infant mortality rate is worse than Cuba's. Your kids do active shooter drills between maths and English while you sell the gunmaker's stock to your mates. Your minimum wage hasn't moved in 15 years. You've got teachers working 2 jobs and veterans sleeping under bridges and you just spent a trillion dollars flattening a country that didn't attack you. And you’ve got a convicted felon, adjudicating raping, paedophile protecting, porn star shagging insurrectionist running the biggest dumpster fire war campaign since the Taliban in Afghanistan thanked you very much for losing again. And you're calling Greenland poorly run? Greenland has universal healthcare. Free education. One of the lowest incarceration rates in the world. Nobody goes bankrupt there because they got sick. Nobody dies in a waiting room because their insurance said no. 'NATO wasn't there when we needed them." When exactly was that, champ? September 11? Because NATO invoked Article 5 for the first and only time in history FOR YOU. Soldiers from dozens of countries deployed, fought, bled, and died in Afghanistan FOR YOU. Australia wasn't even in NATO and we still showed up. For 20 years. And you pulled out at 2am without telling anyone and left them to deal with the mess. So maybe before you start calling other countries poorly run, have a look at your own backyard, you spray-tanned aluminium siding salesman. The only thing poorly run in this picture is your f----- mouth." Credit to: Jim Keller

The media does a terrible job of explaining about NHS privatisation, and this is awful because it’s so important that the public knows what’s going on 🚨 I’ve started a series of videos explaining the situation. If you click here you can watch the first one (or read the transcript if you prefer that!) Ju x jujuliagrace.substack.com/p/…

If you don’t know much about NHS privatisation, that’s because most media outlets ignore what’s going on 🚨 You deserve to know what’s happening - so I’m explaining it to as many people as I can 💙 Please share this - it’ll help me to reach more people to tell them what’s going on! Uncritical support for the state of Israel will now be compulsory teaching in English and Welsh schools. While Israel commits genocide. This Labour Friends of Israel govt is truly dangerous.

The BBC have not reported this from Bell's Report. Please RT this until they do inform the public of this. "Anti-Jewish attitudes are typically less prevalent and have remained more stable, whereas anti-Israel sentiments are more prevalent and have been increasing' Thank you.

So it turns out that those sensational media headlines about three in five Jewish pupils experiencing antisemitism in schools were based on a survey of just 90 pupils. Yes, NINETY. And only 29 pupils reportedly answered yes to the relevant question. Yet these figures have been splashed across the national media to justify proposals that threaten to silence pro-Palestine expression in schools and potentially drag Muslim and non-Muslim children into the Prevent counter-terrorism programme. This is why I hate the mainstream media. They lie, mislead and manipulate. We've been taken for complete fools by this antisemitism in schools report. And frankly, the alternative media, with a few honourable exceptions, have been painfully slow to expose what's going on. Even now, the response from Muslims and pro-Palestinians has been shockingly weak. This is about the censorship of our children, the Zionisation of education and the potential criminalisation of young people whose only offence is having the humanity and courage to speak out against genocide. Yet, apart from little old me and a handful of others, we seem incapable of mounting any meaningful pushback. Where is the outrage? Where is the leadership? Where are the organisations supposedly representing our communities?

Only 5,000 kids were surveyed, only 92 were Jewish, only 70 of 92 responded, and 29 said they had faced antisemitism at school. Only 2% said antisemitism was a big problem at their school and we're reclassifying it as a more serious form of racism based on that? Is this a joke?

I'm not going to name the school, but the @BBC's coverage of the antisemitism in schools report featured interviews with children from a Jewish school. Here's the rub, though. The school's own published curriculum explicitly teaches Zionism, celebrates the establishment of Israel and describes preparing pupils to become "positive advocates for Israel" at university. It even references bringing in organisations such as StandWithUs to prepare pupils for that advocacy. Now, let me be absolutely clear. There is nothing wrong with teaching Jewish history, culture or identity. And antisemitism must be challenged wherever it exists. But when children are actively encouraged to advocate for a particular state, rather than critically examine its history, policies and actions, surely we have to question whether this is education or ideological conditioning? And here's the staggering hypocrisy. We're being told that schools must exercise political impartiality when discussing Palestine, while a school can openly describe preparing children to advocate for Israel. Political impartiality cannot be a principle applied selectively, depending on which side of a conflict children are encouraged to support. And the BBC has a responsibility to scrutinise that distinction, not simply present children's views without examining the educational environment in which those views have developed. Children deserve an education that teaches them how to think, not what to think. @NEUnion @educationgovuk

Been teaching for 18 years. I have seen, heard, & heard of, instances of sexism, homophobia, & racism against PoC at work. But I have never seen, heard, or even heard about a single instance of antisemitism. In 18 years. This is now industrial strength gas lighting. Madness.

Very important. The National Education Union effectively rejects the key recommendations of the new Independent Antisemitism Review, rejecting the IHRA Definition and suggesting current approaches create a hierarchy of racism. Directly says the report "will not tackle antisemitism." This review looks like yet another Labour Together Project disgrace - the long tail of McSweeney-Starmerism - that will likely inflame rather than reduce tensions in schools. Exasperating, infuriating stuff. Imagine telling teachers - teachers! In it for the kids! - that they can't talk about or show opposition Israel's genocide against Palestinian children. Here's what NEU's Daniel Kebede says: "However, recommending the IHRA definition for schools risks deepening the problem rather than tackling it, and actively undermining efforts to confront antisemitism. It is the wrong approach. The IHRA’s contested framing risks blurring the line between antisemitism and legitimate criticism of the Israeli government and the genocide in Gaza, leaving teachers with uncertainty when they need clarity. A young person’s opposition to the Gaza genocide and scrutiny of the Israeli government are not, in themselves, antisemitic. Young people must have the space to understand and discuss world events. Schools must enable young people to confront difficult issues openly and develop empathy, not drive teachers into silence or leave pupils afraid to express their views. Recommending the IHRA definition risks tightening the chilling grip already stifling classroom discussion of the Gaza genocide. Schools need practical support to confront antisemitism, not a contested framework that risks shutting down legitimate discussion. The very real risk is that children who cannot critically explore issues through classroom discussion will instead seek their answers in online and unsafe groups. “This report will not tackle antisemitism. It wrongly calls into question the professionalism of teachers. The existing rules on impartiality in the classroom are very clear and teachers take that responsibility very seriously. For three years, teachers have been responding to concerned pupils’ questions about this conflict. These classroom discussions are familiar territory, not uncharted ground. In that time there have been vanishingly few examples of the Teacher Regulation Agency holding up a complaint of lack of impartiality in the classroom. "The NEU welcomes a strengthened focus on antisemitism in the statutory safeguarding guidance and we would encourage the Department for Education to go a step further by strengthening the guidance on all forms of racism. We are concerned that addressing antisemitism without an equally clear commitment to tackling all forms of racism risks creating a hierarchy of racism. No form of racism should be minimised, and no pupil or member of staff should receive less protection. Similarly, the NEU welcomes training for staff on recognising and challenging antisemitism, but we would like to see this in the context of wider antiracism training. The lack of training and time for staff development is a real barrier and almost two thirds of teachers (65 per cent) report that they have not received any antiracism training of any kind within the past year."

Will Labour next week in the budget tell us sad stories about "difficult decisions" and how there's "no money left?" Or will this Labour Government challenge the broken economic thinking that has lead us to this place? And tax the assets of multimillionaires & billionaires? 👀

Das System hieß „Where‘s Daddy“.

Sending a 76-year-old widower home from heart surgery with “instructions in the portal” is negligence with a login screen. A retired mechanic had a bypass on a Tuesday. Discharged Friday. The nurse handed him a sheet that read: “Post-op care instructions, medication changes, and warning signs are available in your patient portal.” He lives alone. No email. A flip phone he calls “the brick.” For three days, nobody told him which pills to stop. He took them all. His son found him gray in the face on Sunday and drove him back to the ER. The instructions had been in the portal the whole time. Nobody printed a single page. When did “go home and rest” turn into “go home and log in”?

Replying to @DrCalumMiller
And we, as the families of patients deliberately put to death by the NHS, also know it will become a license to kill - or more precisely, kill more old, frail, and disabled patients than some unscrupulous NHS trusts are currently getting away with. Our loved ones were effectively euthanised by the NHS. They were sick but they were not actively dying before the NHS orchestrated their rapid decline. Their treatment, all prescribed medications, food, and fluids were withdrawn, and when their dehydrated, starved bodies could no longer fight, they were injected with mega doses of opioids and benzodiazepines to finish the death-inducing process already set in motion. We are NOT saying all NHS trusts are doing this. We are NOT saying all doctors are complicit in state euthanasia. But it IS happening, and if this Bill passes, we will see deaths of the elderly and disabled skyrocket, while state spending on treatment, care, and pensions falls. There's an obvious link here, and it was laid bare in the Government's own recently published impact statement on the Bill: AS will slash government spending on caring for those in need. How soon before we'd follow the dystopian trajectory of Canada, where access to treatment, care, and financial support are deliberately withheld to coerce those with high-cost care needs to sign up for MAID? How long? If the NHS is already rationing health and social care, if ceilings of care for the elderly and infirm are already being lowered, and access to specialist palliative care is being denied to the majority of those in need, where do people think the AS Bill will lead? Our MPs need to join the dots, cast off their rose-tinted glasses, and get to grips with what's at stake. This Bill is deeply flawed, and catastrophically dangerous. It must be stopped. #NotThisBill #NotThisWay #NotNow
