I’ve spent the last decade deep in the trenches with early-stage CPG brands.
Here’s what some of the founders and operators I’ve worked with closely had to say:
Hot takes on the @Internetinvite through ep. 4
@stoolpresidente should ban gimmies entirely next year. There have been at least a dozen gimmies that are WAY outside automatic.
Cheddy forcing Riggs to put it out was fine. The way he went about it was nasty.
Players had to have either been hot, tired, hungover or drunk in the 1x1s. Some of the worst golf I’ve seen out of most of the players.
On this note - Paige, Bubbie & Chaz all played horrible. Rodger too actually.
SGK is a smug idiot and watching him miss that putt was cathartic. And we all saw it coming two strokes previous.
The tee on hole 18, day 2 was gnarly. Something weird going on there with optical illusions. Almost every drive ended deep in the rough.
@GrantHorvatGolf “I don’t want the ball” moment was endearing.
@RobbyBerger is actually a very good golfer, just total head case and cannot play 1x1 to save his life. He’s an above average putter in this tournament lineup.
Rick deserves almost as much credit as sgk for blowing it for the blue team - for his approach shot on 18 in the playoffs.
Big J is a hero. Obviously. And it’s going to be hard for the rest of the tournament to match that high.
They need to release 1hr blocks nightly next year.
People don’t understand @wesleybryangolf’s humor. Actually blatantly misinterpret it. He’s autistic as hell but a great guy.
FP is too humble. He’s better than Big J & even Horvat at times. Doesn’t get enough credit just because of his distance, but no one rolls the ball like FP
Having Kiz there was awesome.
Whit getting matched up with Larissa (is that her name?) was the funniest moment so far.
@RiggsBarstool gets the hate that Francis deserves.
We need more bts footage. Hope it’s coming.
The whole production is insane. As an OG YT Golf watcher, to see this is what it’s become is wild to watch. Nothing quite like it. Even my wife loves it.
I hit a bucket of balls at the range yesterday and was absolutely striping the ball. Truly, the best my game gets.
This was after a three month break rehabbing a sprained finger on my left hand which is a surprisingly devastating golf injury.
I was playing 3-4x a week this year until then. But by mid-July my game was really suffering.
I was mentally crashing out over the ball and making swing changes every other outing.
Right before my break I shot a 52 on the back 9 of my favorite course and decided it was time for a break. A long break.
Yesterday - Zero swing thoughts. Totally relaxed over the ball. Smooth as butter.
Golf is a strange sport, the ultimate mental game. I love it.

Tommy weighed in at 116 today. He’s been gaining 16-17 pounds per month. Both of his parents are over 200 pounds.
The silver lining from yesterday is that now it’s clear the American people will not (any time soon) support a war of choice & foreign adventurism, nation building, or preemptive intervention.
Huge W tbh.

Time to reset the algo again.
Golf. Golf courses. Golf clubs.
Golf courses. Golf. Golf clubs. Links golf.
Parkland golf. Golf. Golf clubs.
Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf. Golf.
That oughta do it. Right?

Is there some business influencer out there I’m unaware of telling founders not to raise capital?
I don’t get it. The amount of founders (with raisable products/brands) I speak with who are hesitant about raising funds is stunning.
Scaling a CPG brand without funds in the bank will take ten years off your life.
Raise, dammit! The world needs your product.
If you live somewhere you can carry a gun, you don’t need to know jiu jitsu. You want to.
Which raises a lot of questions imho
Every year, people in shitbox beaters drive across the city to our high trust, safe & clean neighborhood to do this kind of shit on Halloween.
Intellectual consistency requires second or third order thinking and stress-testing your frame.
An innocuous example: There are people who criticize trucks, and will make fun of truck owners for over-compensating by purchasing a big truck.
Ironically, their frame implies a concession that big trucks are impressive and useful.
You see this kind of thing everywhere once you recognize it.
Attacking someone for being a hypocrite is a very weak position. You need to go to the base of the argument and form opinions.
