Not all internships are spent sitting behind a desk. 🐝🦗🪰🐛🦋
In Professor Joan Leong’s Entomology Lab, students are gaining hands-on experience through a paid micro-internship with the Rivers and Lands Conservancy. Their work is helping document insect biodiversity while supporting real conservation efforts across SoCal.
Along the way, the students are:

There’s a good reason real-world clients are interested in the insights of CPP's faculty and students.
@cpp_science’s new mass spectrometer gives industry and community partners access to high-end analytical capabilities.
Who’s doing the work? CPP chemistry and biochemistry students! They’ll analyze samples, interpret complex data and gain hands-on experience with technology used across pharmaceutical research, environmental monitoring, food safety and more. 💻 💊 🌱 🍎
Acquisitions like the mass spectrometer are made possible by a historic act of generosity from philanthropist MacKenzie Scott and the establishment of our Bright Tomorrow Fund designed to propel institutional priorities and expand opportunity for students.
