Caddo Sheriff Steve Prator just became the first local official in state history to use local authority to reject an industrial tax exemption request. A company wanted taxpayer $ to "incentivize" a purchase MADE IN 2016! B4, it would have been being rubber-stamped. Not now.

Sheriff Prator is exhibit A on why local control is so important. It's easy to give away somebody else's money. No consequences. When it's YOUR money, you evaluate costs & benefits. And you probably stop allowing really dumb things (like "retroactive incentives").
