Good!
Michael Carrick will 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞 of Manchester United for their trip to Chelsea this weekend. Sources have told BBC Sport that Carrick will be given the opportunity to turn things around at Old Trafford following a dismal start to the season.

turns out it classifies what audio it hears, before reporting back to samsung. sensor preferences, dog-barking and baby-crying event counters, and camera streaming duration are built into telemetry paths.
this is pretty evil and clever. so if your samsung TV model doesnt have a microphone, it will look for connected devices with one, such as a soundbar or a connected bluetooth device. this gets shipped off to bixby.

A composer builds an ai system to rip himself off rather than allowing others too..fucking hell humanity is doomed with these loons around. Just write more music for fucks sake. It’s hard yes, it’s supposed to be! These people are like lemmings…

Wtf… lol 🤦‍♂️
I know people are worried about fuel prices. And I get it. You get to the pump, watch the numbers climb, and wonder why it's costing so much more than it used to.   The reality is that global events are pushing up costs, and families here at home are feeling the impact.   But I won't accept that there's nothing I can do to help.   That's why from today, you'll be able to see petrol and diesel prices on Google Maps, compare nearby stations and find the cheapest option before you fill up.   It's a small change, but if there's a practical way to help people keep more money in their pocket, I'll do it.

The For You tl is a constant bunch of tweets that start with “I remember” or “we were at”, “my sisters ex” “I work with a guy” etc etc … all multi tweets retelling stories that, you know, 99% of which never actually happened lol 🤷‍♂️

So Etihad are threatening to sue the Premier League over the PL's verdict that Man City systematically got involved in "sham" contracts, including with Etihad. State-owned airline Etihad sides with City. Yeah, totally surprising development, ahem. 1/n

Hey fellow Soundies! A few months ago I came across a post about a plug-in that can oscillate the parameters of other plugins. For example make Fab-Filter ProQ4 have rhythmic rises & drops at a certain frequency. I can’t remember the name of it. Any ideas?

If you know someone with bad arthritis I can recommend trying to get them a steroid injection around the painful joint. It makes an amazing difference to my mum.

I strongly urge every Manchester United supporter to turn this feature on immediately. I’ve highlighted this critical security vulnerability multiple times over the past year. It is frankly astonishing that a flaw of this magnitude was left open for so long, despite my repeated direct and indirect warnings to the club. I’ve seen evidence from supporters whose tickets were accessed and downloaded without their consent, forcing the ticket office into crude workarounds like manually altering surnames and postcodes to safeguard accounts. One crucial word of warning: enabling this feature now protects you going forward, but it will not automatically undo what has already happened. There is still every chance any of your Premier League tickets were compromised before you switched it on. The only real safeguard for me is that if United see a ticket has already been downloaded through their own data insight (how good or bad that is, we can only speculate), they should reissue it.
Some good news for the many who have long had concerns about app ticketing relationship security. The club have now switched on this as an option so you can turn it on to protect your account from others adding relationships without your consent: tickets.manutd.com/my-accoun…

What the TV does by design: — scans your entire home network continuously. in their test: one TV identified 38 unrelated devices including phones, smartwatches, printers, and thermostats belonging to people not involved in the test. — collects the names and signal strengths of every nearby WiFi network, plus location data. all sent to LG Ad Solutions. — runs ACR (Automatic Content Recognition) on everything displayed on screen. including HDMI inputs. your laptop, gaming console, or work monitor connected to the TV is being fingerprinted. — one TV exchanged roughly 4GB of ACR-related data per month. What the TV does that LG says it doesn't: LG publicly stated their TVs "do not collect, record, or store ambient conversations." Gamers Nexus found: — the TV converts speech to plain text and stores it in on-device logs — the microphone window stays open 10 to 15 seconds after talking stops, capturing bystanders who never addressed the TV — the TV recorded room audio while the screen appeared off and the Ethernet cable was unplugged, then exfiltrated the file the moment it reconnected The security vulnerabilities on top: Beyond the designed behavior, researchers found remote code execution vulnerabilities in webOS that could allow a compromised TV to be weaponized as a covert listening device. these sets are in hospitals. waiting rooms. boardrooms. hotels. a surgeon asked Gamers Nexus where that leaves patient confidentiality. Gamers Nexus has no answer. neither does LG. What to do right now: — disconnect your LG TV from your network entirely. route streaming through an Apple TV, Roku, or Fire Stick instead. — if you must keep it connected: put it on a separate IoT VLAN or guest network so it cannot reach your other devices. — disable the built-in microphone in settings. — check your privacy dashboard and opt out of ACR and ad personalization. — after every firmware update: recheck all of the above. Credit to Gamers Nexus, Level1Techs, and other independent researchers.
Your LG Smart TV might be more interested in what’s happening in your living room than you are: Researchers found tested LG TVs scanning local devices, capturing microphone audio in standby, and storing data until they reconnect to the internet.

Nothing says “clear and obvious “ than the Rice/Rodgers foul. That VAR didn’t get involved should mean one thing, it needs to go. It’s pointless if it’s not going to correct a situation where a player deliberately fouls another and the player who complains gets the yellow card.

Lmao their email is a mess because they are challenged by basic housekeeping. Tech companies have spent the last 15 years trying to get you to use this email client to sort this imaginary problem…now the grifters want you to use something that’s going to scrape all your data lol
This is so real & I think why we're going to see a lot more consumer use of AI agents. Email is a mess, and if u can have an agent just go into your inbox every morning, sort through the spam and slop and give u a summary of what u need, that's the future

Recently, OpenAI shipped a plugin that lets ChatGPT read your Mac's Messages app, search it, and draft and send replies. However, this feature essentially renders Apple's end-to-end encryption obsolete, because your messages are now sitting on OpenAI's servers in plaintext. The plugin needs Full Disk Access, Contacts and Automation. If you have Messages in iCloud switched on, that's potentially years of history, attachments and identities, plus every SMS 2FA code your iPhone forwards to your Mac. OpenAI says it runs locally and doesn't build an index. Local execution isn't the same as local processing. The moment ChatGPT summarises a thread or drafts a reply using a hosted model, that content leaves the machine. In 2025 a US court ordered OpenAI to preserve ChatGPT conversations for the NYT case, including ones people had deleted. Under the CLOUD Act, data in OpenAI's control is reachable by US legal process wherever it's stored, and they can be barred from telling you it happened. Governments have spent a decade demanding a backdoor into iMessage and getting refused. This one installs itself, for free, with a toggle. If you've enabled it, everyone who has ever texted you is in it, and none of them know. Source @Paul__Walsh: paulfwalsh.substack.com/p/gi…
