It seemed like an impossibility for the longest time, but we got the final thumbs up today. @RoxyShadowpaw and myself are getting a home of our own! Still in the settlement period, but it's happening!
What I was expecting to happen finally happened; rent is going up 19% ($80pw) to $500 pw because "increasing Rental Property Provider costs as well as comparable rentals in your area make an adjustment to your rent necessary." Maybe they'll do maintenance now

Why do I have a feeling that the government saying they're going to fix HECS later this year is going to turn into a "Vote for us and then we'll fix HECS"
Seems like the government doesn't understand (or more likely doesn't give a shit) about the HECs indexation date problem

First time in a while using public transport for my daily commute and remember the main issue I have with it. The buses and trains never link too well. Train pulled in the station 1 minute late, so I got to watch the bus depart. Next bus was in 20+ minutes

I’m seeing this more and more, real estate agencies are sending reference requests asking about whether the prospective tenant has used social media to tell their story. This question should not be allowed in a reference check. This one’s from Altitude Property Management.
It’s not the social media posts that are damaging the landlords reputation, it’s the actions of the landlords themselves.

Scratching my head a little bit. I have a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W where the USB port just doesn't work; dmesg has an error when trying to bring up the USB port descriptor (error -110) but initial research seems to indicate a power issue; this also happens with nothing plugged in.
