Safe to say without Nigerians and Indians, the x app would not be what it is today.
Other countries with as much population as these countries do not speak English or have their own social apps e.g china

Starting Thursday, we'll be updating our revenue sharing incentives to better reward the content we want on X:
We will be giving more weight to impressions from your home region—to encourage content that resonates with people in your country, in neighboring countries and people who speak your language.
While we appreciate everyone's opinion on American politics, we hope this will disincentivize gaming the attention of US or Japanese accounts and instead, drive diverse conversations on the platform.
We invite creators to start building an audience locally. X will be a much richer community when there's relevant posts for people in all parts of the world.

I don’t think this will be the end of infofi though.
It will evolve into something else or move to another platform
We are revising our developer API policies:
We will no longer allow apps that reward users for posting on X (aka “infofi”). This has led to a tremendous amount of AI slop & reply spam on the platform.
We have revoked API access from these apps, so your X experience should start improving soon (once the bots realize they’re not getting paid anymore).
If your developer account was terminated, please reach out and we will assist in transitioning your business to Threads and Bluesky.
