The ThreatLabz 2026 Ransomware Report has been published highlighting notable trends that include a significant increase in the volume of data theft and the targeting of manager-level employees that have access to privileged information. Over the last year, the top ten ransomware groups alone stole nearly a petabyte (PB) of data, with numerous groups stealing more than a terabyte (TB) of data per victim. ThreatLabz also discovered an initial access broker specifically targeting employees that held manager positions primarily in non-technical departments such as accounting/finance, sales, operations, HR, and marketing.
