Hallo Balaam @BalaamBarugahar , it’s me again, Dr Omona. I read your response to Hon Calvin @EchoduOfficial , Mp and @NRMOnline Vice C/man for Eastern, member of the @NRMOnline CEC . According to you , Hon Echodu , an elected leader of the people , was tribal , unpatriotic, not statesman enough and immature , to respond to the happenings in his constituency and region, huh ! May be , Balaam, you may wish to advise , who has a right to speak in Uganda and speak for the people and for themselves and how to speak. I come from the Greater #Kaberamaido, where Lt Gen ELWELU also comes from ( Anyara , Kalaki ). The people in that place got terrified by the ongoing in the National news , aware of their traumatic past , wanted assurance from their leaders about their community. What then would us , their children and leaders tell them. Did we need to seek permission from you to calm down our people so they can settle to till their land without fear ? It’s planting and exam season in this our place right now. Why do you want to smear such a foul lebel as tribalism on a leader who is just calling for calm and giving assurance to his people ? The last time I checked your were a great promoter of tribal chauvinism, have you finally come to our side ?😅😅😅😅😅. I hope we haven’t abandoned our mass line ideology that shaped many of us. WHAT IS PATRIOTISM WITHOUT THE PEOPLE, Bure ! We of the region , are more interested in National security more than you may be even , we bear very many scars of insurgencies and we don’t desire any more . That’s why we find Hon Echodu’s statement neutral , mature , Patriotic and civil and peaceful and re assuring- that’s leadership and therefore don’t need your permission from you , atleast not in our villages to speak for them. We have a duty to do so. This is the beauty of the NRM that we still believe in and this is what our leader Mzee @KagutaMuseveni has taught us. So ma bro Balamu, no one has the monopoly of opinion OR even wisdom and to speak , it’s what we fought for , you remember? Hii ni sirikali ya wananchi. Finally, let me summarize for you what Hon Echodu called for : calm in the region, speedy and transparent inquiry into the Gen ELWELU alleged subversive activities and caution against inflammatory statements. Are these unwise according to you ! Greetings from Kaberamaido city. Cheers.
My dear friend @EchoduOfficial and Hon @NRMOnline Central Committee member, I wish to respectfully appeal that we approach this matter with the highest level of objectivity, wisdom and statesmanship, and avoid viewing it through political, tribal or regional lenses. Matters touching on national security are particularly sensitive and deserve sober reflection, restraint and careful consideration. I believe it would be in the best interests of our country to allow an impartial and independent investigation to establish the facts before conclusions are drawn or positions taken. We should also recognise the experience and institutional responsibility of our Commander-in-Chief @KagutaMuseveni and Chief of Defence Forces General @mkainerugaba , who have considerable experience in assessing intelligence and weighing its implications before decisions are made. Equally important, their compassion, understanding and commitment to the wellbeing of our nation should not be overlooked. As leaders entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding our country’s unity and stability, let us demonstrate maturity, mutual respect and confidence in the appropriate processes. Above all, let national interest prevail over personal, political, tribal or regional considerations. I make this appeal in the spirit of friendship, patriotism and our shared commitment to the peace, unity and stability of our beloved country.

Do not tribalise crime... if this man is a criminal, let him face justice. The Teso card would only be applicable if the Teso leaders gathered, and apologized to the people of Kasese and Rwenzuluru
Last evening we received news of the arrest of our brother Lt Gen Peter Elwelu over security related allegations by UPDF. The news of a possible insurgency brewing in Teso have taken many people in the region by shock. Since last evening, I have been receiving several phone calls from several opinion and Party leaders in Teso and Eastern Uganda about this matter of grave concern. Aware of our turbulent history, We Together with other senior leaders, have embarked on a consultation with responsible institutions to ascertain the details and magnitude of the said matter. We have also informed H.E the President about the concerns of the majority of people in Teso. For now, on my own behalf and on behalf of the people of Eastern Uganda, we call upon the population in Teso and Uganda at large to remain calm as we continue engaging the responsible authorities on this matter of public interest. Finally, as leaders and the people of Teso, we look forward to a speedy and transparent inquiry into these matters while urging the members of the public to desist from making unnecessary inflammatory statements to alarm the community in the region . For God and my Country

I can confirm. A truce actually, although some of the tin-heads would like to portray otherwise. It's a playbook similar to that of another UPDF General who briefly fled to the UK and US appearing on multiple international media thirteen years ago.

Teso leaders should not politicize the arrest of Peter Elweru. He is not the first general to be arrested. Kaziini, Tumukunde, Kayihura, Birungi, Nabaasa, Namanya, Ssejjusa and others were all arrested and their regions didn’t throw tantrums or play sectarian cards. Inciting the public won’t help unless some people know more than they are telling us and are covering up.

Your parents won't see you grow old. Your partner never knew you as a child, and your children won't remember you young. You are the only person who witnesses every version of yourself. Take care of yourself, value yourself and love yourself. You are your lifelong companion.

“The private sector is not for the faint-hearted. Business is tough, unpredictable and full of challenges, but it remains one of the greatest pathways to wealth creation, innovation, employment and economic independence. Entrepreneurship demands courage, discipline, resilience and sacrifice. The journey may be difficult, but the rewards of building something meaningful are worth the struggle.”

All year, General Muhoozi kept saying Uganda should leave Somalia. Most dismissed it as social media noise. Somali sources tell a different story: the message wasn’t coming from Kampala, but from Abu Dhabi. UAE’s targets: Türkiye’s planned spaceport at Warsheikh and its oil exploration off the Somali coast. The plan: strip Somalia of its security shield before they’re built. Uganda’s exit is step one. barazabrief.com/2026/11/what…

It is so sad to see NUP’s top leaders gathered at their party headquarters yesterday to pay their last respects to their loyal supporter, the late Kapere, and the highest contribution made was UGX 20,000 by Mathias Walukaga, followed by Nubian Li with UGX 5,000. Others contributed UGX 2,000, UGX 15,000, and UGX 1,000 . The total amount collected was UGX 234,500 from the 130 people who were present to pay their last respects to Kapere. These are the same people who want Ugandans to entrust them with the leadership of our country, yet they cannot support one of their own loyal supporters in times of need. The late Kapere was struggling to raise just UGX 100,000 for his rent. When he reached out to the Leader of the Opposition, @JoelSsenyonyi, for assistance with the same amount, he was told that the LoP was also broke like him. I would like to request anyone who is in contact with Kapere’s widow to let her know that she is welcome to come and receive my personal contribution of UGX 1 million at any time convenient for her. I have also spoken to my brother, Hon. Mulindwa Ryan Kibedi (PLU), a director of several schools along Gayaza Road, who has generously offered me bursaries for Kapere’s children, covering their education from their current level until they complete Senior Six. Thank you so much Ryan🙏 PLU is for all Ugandans, including those in the opposition. It is the spirit of patriotism, compassion and humanity that brings us together as one people, regardless of our political differences. In times of grief and need, we must remember that we are all Ugandans first. May kapeere’ soul Rest in peace.
