Got punished for being aggressive this week.
Would’ve been better off keeping João Pedro and getting Groß off the bench, but that’s FPL.
Have 3 transfers into GW6.
Not too fussed about the red arrow, it could have been worse
Let’s see what happens over the international break.
See everyone in three weeks 👋

GW5 locked 🔒
First transfer of the season:
João Pedro ➡️ Barry
Happy to be a little more aggressive here. Barry’s underlying numbers are excellent and I'll have 3 transfers for GW6 anyway.
Also backing the Arsenal triple-up. Best defence in the league, so all three start and both Brighton boys hit the bench.
If Brighton wipe the clean sheet, so be it.
See you on the other side 🫡

A few GW5 thoughts from the model 🧠📊
1️⃣ Don’t overthink Haaland.
7.68 xPts at home to Sunderland. Highest projection in the entire sheet. Captain and move on.
2️⃣ Everton might be the team to shop from this week.
Barry 5.34
Dewsbury Hall 5.09
Tarkowski 4.78
Branthwaite 4.34
IPS (H) is exactly the sort of fixture I’m happy attacking at both ends.
3️⃣ Wissa is becoming very hard to ignore.
5.87 xPts against Hull, second only to Haaland among forwards. Barnes at 5.05 is also a really nice route into Newcastle.
4️⃣ Forest are where I’d look if you actually NEED to make a transfer.
MGW comes in at 5.57 xPts this week and the fixture run remains attractive. Coventry at home feels like the start of the run, not a one week punt.
5️⃣ I’m not selling Arsenal assets because Brighton away looks awkward.
Saka still projects at 5.64 and Gabriel at 4.74. Sometimes the best players are still the best players in an average fixture.
6️⃣ Bruno is being overlooked.
6.35 xPts is the second highest midfield projection in our model. Fulham away isn’t enough to scare me off. If you own him, I’m starting him. The current FPL captaincy analysis also has him among the stronger premium options behind Haaland.
7️⃣ City attackers = hold.
Cherki 5.78
Semenyo 5.22
Minutes are the only thing stopping me getting too excited about Cherki. The ceiling is obvious, but his projected minutes are noticeably lower than the safer premiums.
8️⃣ Palmer holders don’t need to panic.
5.64 xPts at Brentford. If you’re Wildcarding immediately afterwards then sure, a short punt can make sense. Otherwise I’d rather keep the premium asset than manufacture a transfer.
9️⃣ João Pedro is different.
He’s an injury doubt and has no GW5 projection in our sheet. If the latest news remains negative, I’m much happier moving him than Palmer. Barry and Wissa are the obvious replacements depending on budget.
🔟 Liverpool feels more “hold” than “buy” this week.
Isak 5.07
Szoboszlai 4.78
Wirtz 4.17
I’d happily start Isak and Szobo. I’m much less interested in using a transfer to bring Wirtz in right now.
1️⃣1️⃣ Muharemovic is the cheap defender I keep coming back to.
4.40 xPts this week at £5.0m. Not glamorous. Very usable.
1️⃣2️⃣ And finally… rolling is a move.
There are plenty of decent fixtures this week, but not many players worth tearing a good team apart for.
My priority buys this week 👀
👑 Haaland
⚫ Wissa
🔵 Barry
🌳 MGW
🍬 Tarkowski
🎯 Muharemovic
Sometimes the high IQ move is just… not creating a problem that wasn’t there.

I know rolling the transfer, keeping Joao Pedro and just taking someone off the bench is probably the sensible play, but I really want to be aggressive and go for Barry for the next two gameweeks, then reassess from there.
Even if I make the move, I’ll still have three free transfers next week, so it doesn’t feel like I’m giving up too much flexibility.
João Pedro is looking increasingly unlikely for GW5.
Initial thoughts are still to hold.
If he starts, great. If he misses out completely, I can use the bench.
Really don’t fancy selling him one week before a three-week gap just to potentially want him straight back in GW6.
#FPL
Initial thoughts are that he’s probably injured, especially with the announcement coming before the Premier League game rather than after.
If that is the case, then I think he’s a sell if you don’t have anyone on the bench who can cover.
For me, though, I’m leaning towards starting him as things stand. Either he’s not injured and starts, or if he is ruled out, I’ll just take whoever is first on my bench.
I don’t really want to use a transfer on him with three weeks after this gameweek. I’d rather bench him if needed, then reassess in GW6.
