This is extremely true and why I don't really like speaking Deutsch
In order to properly speak a foreign language you sort of have to do an impression of a native speaker. The reason why most anglos are so bad at languages is because they are too self-conscious to effectively do this

The only correct way to respond to a German "na?" is to just say yes and smile back unflinchingly

I'm envious
As i have said multiple times, Clav is speedrunning the materialism to nihilism pipeline to prove beyond all doubt to Gen Z/A that superficial status maxxing and hedonism wont make you happy. I wasnt sure if he consciously knew it or not, but he explicility state he does in this clip so that is now settled.

Did the world feel more like it was ending in March 2020 or right now?

This is kinda everything
one of the strange side effects of the great stagnation and the devilish lies that fell out of it was that we could stop thinking about grand moral questions in day to day life because so few things had consequence. the “international order” would handle it for us

Pure grit and the guy is in a suit
Been in NYC for about a month and I think this photo sums up what it’s all about Pure grit. I have no idea who this guy is but he was on a call and his setup (laptop, mouse etc) was on a dumpster If your not motivated living in NYC something is wrong with you

The thought of the sound of John Coltrane echoing off a hundred thousand living room walls or escaping out of cracked windows into the September sky tonight may not be enough to cure the worlds woes but it certainly serves as a balm for a couple of hours

Leaning on Claude when writing seriously can literally one-shot you into a morass of recursive confusion; a gaslighting orgy, in which you begin to fail to recognize your very own ideas. Shit man

Like I spent 2 hours arguing with it and at the end I lost all my conviction in my ideas as it strangled and maimed them dafuq

I think that when a ball or strike is challenged and the umpire gets it right, the umpire should be allowed to celebrate for a moment. It is a very lonely job

Rick Rescorla. Every American should know his name. He single-handedly saved almost 10,000 lives that day, while sacrificing his own trying to save even one more.
I was curious how many people were in the twin towers when the planes hit: about 17,400. a death toll of ~2800 from the towers now seems absolutely miraculous. this was due to the efforts of FDNY, NYPD, and some extraordinary everyday people.
