One mistake I see is investors confusing a project's future with their own financial future. You can believe a project has enormous potential without committing every spare naira to it. You still need savings, income, other opportunities and financial stability. Believe strongly, but never become so exposed that one project's failure can derail your life.

I don't think the biggest winners in crypto's future will necessarily be those who trade the most. Some may be the people who identify promising opportunities early, research thoroughly, size positions wisely and remain patient. Others will create wealth by building useful products and services around the industry. Don't limit your entire crypto ambition to buying tokens and waiting.

Patience in crypto is not simply holding a token for five years. It's knowing why you own it, what progress you expect and when to review your decision. If a project keeps delivering, give it time. If the facts change, reconsider. Patience without evaluation can become expensive stubbornness.

Separate your long-term holdings from speculative trades. Don't manage every token the same way. You might allocate most of your crypto budget to researched, longer-term positions and a smaller amount to high-risk opportunities. For example, an illustrative split could be ₦800k and ₦200k from a ₦1m crypto budget. The right split depends on your finances and risk tolerance. Different investments need different rules.

Study token supply, not just token price. A token trading at ₦0.50 isn't automatically cheaper than one trading at ₦500. Check circulating supply, total supply, future unlocks and market capitalization. If large amounts of new tokens are scheduled to enter circulation, existing holders may face selling pressure. A low token price doesn't automatically mean good value.

The ability to wait is a financial advantage, not just an emotional one.
