The biggest club in England by fanbase is playing today, and the whole world is tuning in.
Brighton will be lucky to get one shot on target. What we're about to do to them honestly shouldn't be televised. 😭

I agree with every word of this.
Slavery was an evil in which people from every continent and region participated. We should be honest about the whole history, not select the parts that are politically convenient today, especially given Britain's leading role in ending the transatlantic slave trade.
If Caribbean countries are asking Britain for a formal apology for Britain’s role in the transatlantic slave trade, will they also be asking the same of the descendants of African kingdoms, rulers and merchants who captured, sold and profited from the trade?
On demands for reparations, whether through cash or debt relief, we have been down this track before. Twenty-five years ago, Jubilee 2000, Drop the Debt and Make Poverty History argued that cancelling the debts of poorer countries would give them a fresh start. More than $100 billion of debt was eventually written off, but many of those countries have since built up even bigger debts. Labour are already spending too much on Britain's welfare state, now is not the time for Andy Burnham to be providing global welfare.
There is no reason British taxpayers today should be held financially responsible for things that happened generations before any of us were born. And I have even less patience for political elites in commonwealth countries who don’t know how to make their own citizens prosperous now looking for another opportunity to blame Britain.
As Prime Minister, Andy Burnham should be Britain’s greatest defender. Instead, he is writing articles saying we need to confront our history (as if we haven't done enough of that) and considering another formal historical apology. Tony Blair already expressed Britain’s deep sorrow and regret for our role in the slave trade nearly twenty years ago. There is no need to do so again.
This is all another navel-gazing distraction. The Commonwealth should be looking forward, not endlessly backwards. That means economic partnerships to make us all richer and deeper military and security cooperation against common threats. If every Commonwealth summit becomes an exercise in presenting Britain with demands for cash then we need to start asking if it is worth the effort.

More footage has emerged showing what happened at the top of the stairs between Caroline Voaden and Nigel Farage.
Once again it completely contradicts her account.
At no point does the footage show Nigel behind Caroline or trying to push her out of the way.
What it does show is Caroline continuously badgering Nigel until he finally moves out of the way and lets her barge past him.
Yesterday she said the incident occured before the footage showing her barging past him.
Now a second clip has emerged showing what happened at the top of the stairs, she's now saying the incident happened before that clip as well.
Ok Caroline.
We can clearly see a long line of people queueing in single-file behind you in the new clip, did he push all of those people out of the way as well?
Now all the usual left-wing suspects in the media and politics are accusing Nigel of being 'scared' of the Lib Dems.
No, he just understands that after trying everything else to discredit him, they are now sinking even lower by trying to brand him as some kind of misogynistic bully and I don't blame him for not wanting to be anywhere near them.
We see what they're doing and they're not happy that this time it has backfired massively.
Imagine what would be happening now if none of this footage had emerged.
Vote Reform.

YOU CAN'T COME IN WITH A POPPY. IT'S POLITICAL." 🏴😡
That's what a doorman told a British Army veteran outside a Wetherspoons in Gosport. Then: "Don't wear it inside or you'll be asked to leave."
A poppy. For his mates who never came home. Too political for a pint.
So last night Gosport turned out. Patriots on that High Street outside The Star, standing for the men who once stood for us. Now there are calls for that manager to resign.
Braintree. England shirts. Now a soldier in Gosport. That's a pattern, and it doesn't happen by accident.

Where is the outrage from the media and the City?
Why is Burnham not being hounded out of office with ‘lettuce’ comparisons?

On Bob Wilson’s 85th birthday, a reminder of the time Arsenal’s squad and the late Jill Dando surprised him for This Is Your Life in 1998.
Here the former keeper is genuinely moved by Michael Aspel appearing with the big red book.
Wonderful stuff.

𝗟𝗮𝘄 𝟭𝟮: “A tackle or challenge that endangers the safety of an opponent or uses excessive force or brutality must be sanctioned as serious foul play. Red card.
Yet there are h̴a̴r̴d̴ n̴u̴t̴s̴ melts on this app who think this is a “great tackle”.
I said it was a red when I saw it because the state of refereeing in this country is appalling And the FA confirm that thinking. Zero common sense. No man management. This is what they’ve done to our beautiful game. Max will come back stronger ……… and more cynical.
This is really poor by @FA. The governing body is supposed to protect players. It should be disputing this regulatory commission verdict by members drawn from the FA judicial panel. Max Dowman could have suffered a bad injury to his standing leg from a dangerous challenge which went unpunished. Arsenal 16-year-old shouldn’t have reacted but his frustration was understandable. Some other players might have rolled around and ensured a bad challenge was punished. Dowman didn’t. He doesn’t stay down. The FA should have shown some understanding towards Dowman. Instead, it has suspended him for three games. FA priorities all wrong: tolerating a poor challenge and some weak refereeing but punishing a kid who objected to a bad challenge that could have dealt him a serious injury. Protect players. #AFC

Fleetwood's Adam Murphy talking to Off The Ball:
“They were very classy in the tunnel afterwards. There was a good few of us waiting outside their changing room just to see if they’d throw us their jersey.
“Odegaard came out, and there was a few of us waiting, and he shook all of our hands and said ‘very best of luck, you deserved it’.
“I was outside the changing room [waiting for] anyone really, their squad is just unbelievable, you’d take anyone’s [jersey]. Dowman was there, and I ended up getting his jersey.”
😬 "They didn't take it well!"
👕 "We didn't get the chance to ask for shirts!"

UK: Somalian migrant Dahir Ibrahim has raped so many women at knifepoint in the UK it is almost unbelievable. These women's lives will be changed forever but he has successfully won several court cases now because of human rights laws.
He has successfully appealed a prison term after multiple rapes and was given a community order. Within weeks he had raped more women at knifepoint.
After being finally sentenced to 10 years he blocked the Home Office's ability to deport him (Kier Starmer might have been his defence).
He has now successfully sued the NHS trust since despite being addicted to Codeine has has argued that he was made to take it during Ramadan which goes against his human rights. And he has won.
You tell me how fkd up the UK is right now.
