Getting ready for the big match (still time for that call up!) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 ⚽️ Happy to support Extra Time for Dads - and pleased the government is reviewing paternity leave policy💪 New dads should be able to spend more time with their newborns and partners without worrying about other pressures. Our laws are some of the most minimalist in Europe in this area. This would be an important change to show our appreciation for Dads out there! Brilliant work by @alistrathern campaigning for change. @MovemberUK

10 years ago, the government introduced shared parental leave. It was hoped this would allow dads to play a more prominent role in fatherhood. But new analysis shows it's a scheme which is "completely broken" and "failing working families". Full story: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/ckg7…

Gender inequality is bad for everyone, and parenting seems to me to be one of the most obvious places this manifests. Enjoyed talking to Alex from @dadshiftuk for our #IMD24 series.
HAPPY INTERNATIONAL MEN’S DAY EVE! In our first #IMD2024 interview @inspireajen chats to Alex Lloyd-Hunter, co-founder of @dadshiftuk, about perceptions of gender roles, and why the UK’s terrible paternity leave allowance is hurting everyone. bit.ly/3wM9KHC

The shocking state of paternity leave - and our campaign to win a policy fit for the 21st century - is gaining traction in national and local outlets. Great to see the @ShropshireStar cover the paternity leave debate that @ShaunDaviesMP secured. shropshirestar.com/news/busi…

Supportive MPs turned out in numbers to the debate on paternity leave today. We agree with @alistrathern - we need to put an end to families having to make heartbreaking choices under current policy. Let's make statutory paternity leave fit for the 21st century.

The UK is the worst country in Europe when it comes to supporting new fathers. A stunt involving public statues and new energy in Westminster mean the call for change is gathering momentum gq-magazine.co.uk/article/uk…

Looking forward to speaking in this debate tomorrow. @dadshiftuk
🚨There's a parliament debate on paternity leave tomorrow. Can you email your MP to ask them to speak at the debate and raise the profile of paternity leave ? We've made an online tool that takes 30 seconds to use. thedadshift.good.do/paternit…
