I’m going to be frank with you guys, especially the so-called Pan-Africanists/Abahlale….You have to be borderline brain-dead to look at what is happening in this country and think it’s okay……Because from where I’m standing, we are watching this country being brought to its knees, & some of you are cheering it on…. We have “asylum seekers” flooding our markets with counterfeit goods, fake alcohol, cigarettes & even food, undermining legitimate businesses, threatening public health & bleeding our economy dry. We have people bringing in explosives, killing our citizens, including police officers, & destroying our infrastructure. We are watching our own country being overwhelmed, yet you behave as though raising these concerns is somehow offensive……Not so long ago, we learnt about billions leaving this country through spaza shops of “asylum seekers”. And somehow, you STILL think this is funny? These so-called “asylum seekers” are taking from an economy they contribute nothing to, not even rent, not even tax, yet they are treated like royalty while ordinary South Africans are expected to shut up and accept it….And when we finally speak out, what does our government do? @CyrilRamaphosa deploys the @SANDF_ZA against his own citizens instead of listening to the very people who voted him into power….At this point, it feels as though he would rather see South Africans suffer & die than risk making these people uncomfortable. And you people who call themselves Pan-Africanists? You laugh, you gloat and you mock those who dare to raise the alarm, as though the consequences of what is happening will somehow spare you… Bo babes, HEAR me when I tell you this, just because you still have your high-paying job, live in your penthouse & drive your Porsche does not mean you are immune to what is coming. Your privilege might be shielding you from the consequences today, but it will not necessarily shield you tomorrow. It may not have hit you yet, but give it time. And when it does, we will be right here to tell you, WE TOLD YOU SO!

Burkina Faso President Ibrâhim Traore says: “ I am NOT a politician so I will tell you the Truth . Everyday we see politicians with multiple cars , they eat and dress good . They eat in the morning and evening while millions of people out there have no food . Go to the villages and see how women are suffering. We have families that can’t afford anything . There is a problem if we have people enjoying while others are suffering. Yes we are fixing a lot of things but it is not enough . We must make sure that in Bukina Faso everyone is OKAY. “

#LewisHamilton had every reason to speak out about the serious human rights violations taking place in Rwanda and Congo. Just last week, a critic of Kagame’s regime was found beheaded in exile. Rwanda’s support for #M23 makes matters worse. Through #F1, this is sportswashing.

“The @EFFSouthAfrica is a charismatic party, the very same way we have charismatic churches in South Africa and @Julius_S_Malema is the all-knowing leader who communicates directly to God, in fact he’s god himself. He can wake up in the morning and make his dreams the policies of the @EFFSouthAfrica. The same way @realDonaldTrump is bigger than the @Republicans, @Julius_S_Malema is bigger than the @EFFSouthAfrica as well.” - Moeletsi Mbeki 🤣🔥🇿🇦

My foreign brothers and sisters living in South Africa, it is time we stop pretending that this problem will solve itself. South Africa is a country, not a refuge for an entire continent that has given up on fixing its own problems. We cannot all abandon our countries, run to South Africa and expect South Africans to carry the consequences of our governments’ failures. South Africans fought for their freedom in 1994. What is stopping us from going home, voting, challenging corrupt leaders and fighting for better governments? How long are we going to keep running away while our countries fall apart? We are putting so much pressure on South Africa that we risk destroying one of the few remaining places people still run to for opportunities. And when South Africa reaches breaking point, where exactly are we going to go? Europe? America? Another African country already struggling with the same problems? We cannot keep exporting our problems from one African country to another and expect the continent to prosper. Genuine asylum seekers deserve protection, and criminality should never be attributed to an entire nationality. But those of us who have the freedom to return home must ask ourselves some uncomfortable questions. If every African who is unhappy with their government runs away instead of fighting for change, who will be left to fix those countries? We cannot all be refugees from our own responsibilities while expecting someone else’s country to survive the burden. Go home. Vote. Demand better. Fight for your country. Because if we destroy every place we run to instead of fixing the places we come from, eventually, there will be nowhere left to run.

Strategic decisions that favor your citizens, as a serious country, need not be big. They can be small but meaningful measures, which nonetheless have long-lasting positive effects for your citizens and their interests. They should be unambiguous and proactive in the problems they prevent.

BBC News, I am a foreigner living in South Africa, and I believe your reporting is doing an injustice to this country when you highlight violence against foreigners without giving equal attention to the serious crime that fuels public frustration. As a foreigner, I refuse to pretend that crime committed by other foreigners is not a problem simply because I am one of them. My nationality does not require me to defend wrongdoing, and my empathy for foreigners does not require me to dismiss the legitimate concerns of South Africans. There are reports of foreign nationals implicated in drug trafficking, human trafficking, illegal drug laboratories and cable theft. A foreign national was also reportedly involved in running over a Crime Intelligence specialist. These incidents deserve serious scrutiny and consistent reporting, too. If BBC News can report when a foreigner is beaten to death, it should also report on crimes committed against South Africans, regardless of the perpetrator’s nationality. If you believe violence against foreigners deserves international attention, surely the victims of crimes committed by foreigners deserve that same attention. Accountability cannot be selective. Human rights apply to everyone, and so must the law. Let me be clear: beating someone to death is indefensible, and no crime justifies mob justice. But condemning mob violence must not become an excuse to avoid discussing crime, immigration enforcement and the failures that leave communities feeling unsafe. South Africans deserve safety, and foreigners who commit crimes must face the law. These positions are not contradictory. Do not use the death of one person to silence an entire country’s concerns. Report the killing, condemn the violence, and give the broader issue of crime the same seriousness. That is what fair and responsible journalism should look like.

The U.S., EU, and even Pakistan (a ‘contributor’ country) are doing it. I am afraid it is open countries like South Africa that shall incur downstream costs of this situation. For its national interest, national security, and the preservation of its wonderful national identity, South Africa must turn the corner and be proactive on this matter. Countries make hard decisions and mass re-migration is unavoidable.
