An LAFC fan named Chris Armstrong, who’s been getting backlash for allegedly yelling racial slurs at Son Heung-min, explains his case.
He says he yelled “mijo” at Son, which means my son in Spanish.
He denies yelling “ni hao”, which means hello in Chinese.
“My name has recently come up in a few different social media platforms claiming I was telling racial slurs to Son after the galaxy game this Sunday,” Armstrong wrote from his Facebook account.
“You all know me as the guy with the big hat that sits in the front row.
“After the game as Son was walking by, cheering on the fans, as he passed by I yelled out his name in Spanish which is ‘Mijo.’
“There was another fan next to me who thought I yelled out ‘Ni hao’, which means hello in Chinese.
“When she asked me if I said that I said no as I actually didn't even know what that meant or what she was talking about. I literally thought she was going to compliment me on speaking Korean.
“Yesterday I got a message from a friend saying I was trending on Reddit. Now today I'm getting tagged and sent messages from all sorts of different platforms claiming I was yelling out racial slurs when that is in fact not true.
“I've been a season ticket holder since day one, I travel to see our team play at away stadiums.
“I have love and passion for this team and to have my name dragged in the dirt like this is not cool. People lose their jobs and get all sorts of backlash from online keyboard warriors.
“I'm asking for any fans that know me, have seen me, or interacted with me to please throw out some character witness statements about me.
“I have myself reached out to LAFC front office and am waiting for them to get back to me.
“This person claims I was yelling Ni hao but I was really yelling Mijo, Mijo. I was asking him to sign my hat.
“People get shit twisted and want to cause a scene on social media. Now everyone is claiming because I'm white and I'm most likely a trump supporter (which i am not) that this is probably true.
“I am white and speak fluent Spanish. Most people in my section and the stadium know me and have had good interactions with me.
“I will ask LAFC to provide their own video and audio to clear my name from this BS.
“Please watch and listen to the video and tell me if you hear me saying what they are claiming.”
The clip of Armstrong yelling at Son has gone viral in the U.S., Europe, and South Korea, with many believing he yelled a racial slur at Son.
LAFC have officially launched an investigation into this case.

It is the least he can do, he is getting paid 12 million to score goals but has 0 this season. He is probably making more $$ than all our defense combined 🤣🤣🤣
