In light of recent ao3 related events, I have stumbled upon a website that I think authors need to be made aware of.  The website ao3 [DOT] life has been scraping and downloading fics published to ao3 for who knows how long. 🧵

‼️COULD THIS AI SCRAPPING WEBSITE BE THE PEOPLE WHO HACKED AO3?? 🤔 Connect the dots w me: they monetize fics via AI audio-fics, enrage you & then require your AO3-linked EMAIL for takedowns/payouts. What did AO3 say Could be compromised? EMAIL DATA. Isn't it all very suspicious?

So ao3 [dot] life is a website whose domain was JUST registered today, with millions (?) of fics as audiobooks within their database. Honestly this is highly suspicious — DO NOT email this site for taking your fics down, they have no business knowing that kind of information.

Replying to @dkosalivation
this is making me think that ao3's suspicions about their user database being stolen are correct, and this website was made to double check their stolen info. why else would they ask for the email attached to your ao3 account? they should have no way of knowing that

They actually ask for payment for an audio book. In rupiah its worth 90k. . . totally unfair. I worked my ass off only for someone to SOLD my hard work. . . this is war
