I’ve spent the last few years getting laptops to people around the world. And getting them back. Here’s what nobody tells you when you start hiring remotely: Your IT isn’t a tech problem. It’s a people ops problem wearing a tech costume. - The day someone joins, the laptop is late. First impression gone. - The day someone leaves, the laptop goes quiet. Sometimes forever. - In between, nobody owns it. Usually it’s the founder, the office manager, or whoever “knows computers”. At 20 people that’s annoying. At 200 across 15 countries, it’s a security risk and a five-figure line item nobody tracks. The fix isn’t buying more software. It’s deciding who owns the device lifecycle - order, deploy, support, recover - and making it boring. That’s what we build at Rayda. I post about: • What actually breaks when startups go global • IT + people ops for teams without an IT department • Building a startup (and using AI to do it) in public If you’re the person “holding the bag” on IT at your company, follow along. You’re not alone.

CrowdStrike just shipped a kill switch for rogue AI agents.
Great. Now who at a 50 person company knows which agents exist to kill? 🙃

And the people who’ll need it most aren’t in engineering either. Ops and HR teams are shipping agents now too. Observability tells you what an agent did. Someone still has to own what it’s allowed to do.
AI observability is up 9,300%. Nobody outside engineering has heard of it. That’s how every big B2B category starts.

Microsoft says 50 million agents are registered in Agent 365. Better question: how many have an owner who still works there or knows what it's supposed to/able to do

Bad things will happen. Fine. The real question is whether you can see them and stop them. Most companies today can’t tell you how many agents they’re running, let alone what those agents can access
Sam Altman: "The world needs to accept that bad things will happen for AI to move forward."

Your company went global. But your IT team got a new employee, a new country and a new office. In the same week.

Really struggling to see the improvements the change in the summer has provided. I’m not sure where we have improved anywhere #ycfc

Yeah you can say we conceded 5, but that’s negative I’d prefer us to say we stopped them scoring 6 We scored so many under Maynard, not just because of possession, but because of the amount of chances we created No shot on target since 28th minute #ycfc

Should be getting a new contract, good people are invaluable and Gary certainly seems like one of them #ycfc
"It was hard to take." 🥲 York City first-team coach Gary Elphick joined us for the commentator's round table last night and talked us through the transition from Stuart Maynard to Scott Lindsey. Listen: bbc.in/470qv0n #YCFC | #BBCFootball | @BBCYork

SL was right last week, most games anyone could manage this team.. players are that good and used to the style.. A good manager tweaks that midway through the 2nd half #ycfc @BBCYorkSport
