The last part of Jayson Tatum's quote on Jaylen Brown:
"He made me better, and we made our team better. We made this organization better. We won a championship. We are forever etched in stone in NBA history. We held up that trophy. It won't ever be forgotten."
Jayson Tatum was in Vegas when he learned that Jaylen Brown was traded:
“You traded him down the street?”
He then discussed their legacy:
“When it was time to go to war, I looked to my left & my right and No. 7 was there, I knew that he was going to do whatever it took for us”

Mitchell Robinson does not mince words
Mitchell Robinson says Joe Mazzulla texted him after his struggles in the season opener, for which Robinson took full accountability:
“He sent me some text messages and stuff like that, and, you know, I appreciate it, but I didn't even respond to the last text… I played like ass. It’s kind of straightforward. And again, I can't have that.”

We gave our immediate reactions to Opening Day on @HavlicekStoleIt, and there was plenty to talk about.
We discussed what went wrong during Celtics-Pistons and did our best to highlight some of the things that went right. Check it out!
Truly terrible news out of SF.
Kristaps Porzingis' time in Boston had its ups and downs, but he ultimately helped bring about a championship. Hopefully this isn't how it ends for him.
Definitely missed not having meaningful basketball…..did not miss the narratives and overreactions from a single game
Jaylen Brown is already off to a hot start with the Sixers heading into the 4th:
- 19 points
- 6 rebounds
- 5 assists
Celtics got outrebounded 59-45 and outscored 24-16 on second-chance points.
You can't have that if rebounding is a major part of your team's identity.
One of the few bright spots from today: Paul George had 38 points in his Celtics debut.
His career-high with the Sixers was 39 points.
Celtics drop the season opener for the second straight year.
Jayson Tatum, the bigs, and a few of the young wings all disappointed.
Boston will get a chance to bounce back against the defending champs on Friday.
