Unrelenting maximalism with zero regard for optics and no room for compromise and an arrogant overestimation of one’s leverage and power is a great way for a political organization to be permanently irrelevant

I’m sorry but AOC would probably be smart to distance herself from national DSA when there’s a risk of them airing out dirty laundry and creating a scene just days before an election. Truly embarrassing, high school-type shit happening with Nithya Raman.

Somehow, in certain quarters, it has come to be seen as a personal failing to devote one’s life to improving the world around you. It isn’t ā€œdownwardly mobileā€ to choose, after college, to be a teacher, a city councilor or an artist. It’s just a different kind of ambition.

Important to broaden this criticism to ā€œthe Republican Party.ā€ J6 was pinned exclusively on ā€œTrumpā€ when it was a Republican attempted coup. GOP has to sustain brand damage and loss of trust.
Trump has never needed evidence to claim that an election is ā€œrigged.ā€ Trump, himself, has been threatening to interfere in the midterms by sending ICE to the polls to intimidate voters, block mail-in voting, and push voter suppression bills to prevent voters from voting.

ZACHARIA IS ON THE WAY OUT ALREADY šŸ‘‡ Q: Would you have liked to have known that Katie Zacharia didn't pass the bar? TRUMP: Katie has been treated very badly by the media. Very very badly. Very unfair. I just asked her, is this for you? And she's a nice person. I'm going to let her make that decision. Sean Hannity was a little bit tough. Katie is off to a start that, the news has been so nasty to her. I told her, 'Honestly, if I were you, I would reconsider.' Maybe it's not for her

😮 Katie Zacharia crashes and burns on [checks notes] Hannity 😮 If you had the "over" on Zacharia lasting more than one Scaramucci, her epic flame out on Hannity just now won't help your cause HANNITY: You said you consulted with people who advised you it was okay to call yourself a lawyer but not an attorney, correct? ZACHARIA: Correct HANNITY: There's a report out tonight showing 15 social media posts where you identify yourself as an attorney ZACHARIA: I think they were retweets Here's the whole interview:

This is one of the greater self-owns of all time in the admittedly somewhat undignified history of the U.S. Senate, just how Eric Schmitt thinks he's fucking Matlock.
A phenomenal moment in the Senate. Eric Schmitt, R-Mo., claims he has evidence Jack Smith went to a HAWKS game in Atlanta. Smith denies it. Schmitt declares he has busted Jack Smith for perjury. Smith, vexed, says he went to HAWKEYES game in Maryland. Watch the whole thing:

Nelson's books are the best starting point for understanding the U.S. labor movement and labor history. He's got a new one coming out, "Why Labor Unions Matter." But I recommend all the other ones, too!!!
Always nice when a box of books with your name on them arrives in the mail. From bookstore organizing to mounting a general strike, this book tells the how and why. $28 from Yale.

Knicks tickets officially went on sale this afternoon. Loyal Knicks fans supported this franchise through two decades of darkness… losing season after losing season. Now, after a championship, MSG is charging more than $1,000 per ticket on Opening Night for the worst seats in the building (400 section in the upper-deck) Mind you, this is NOT resale. These are Standard Admission via Ticketmaster. Secondary-market sellers charging outrageous prices is one thing. There is practically nothing MSG can to limit re-sellers. But these aren’t resale tickets—MSG itself, directly, is charging fans $1,039.50 apiece for seats in the 400s. That’s $4,158 for a family of four. (Just for the tickets - not to mention the overpriced food and drinks.) A multibillion-dollar franchise pricing its own non-wealthy fans out of the Garden on a night the fanbase has been dreaming about for 50 years. Shameful.
