I am excited to announce the @BenSasse Award from the Center for Faith and Flourishing (@CFFlourishing). The award promotes research from @JohnBrownUniv students on citizenship, religious and economic freedom, the marketplace of ideas, and more.
Stay tuned...
We’ve reached the “Vote for us, because if THEY win, there will never be another free election” stage of campaign season. It’s so embarrassing.

BREAKING: Pope Leo XIV has requested a mail-in ballot for the U.S. midterm elections, potentially becoming the first pope in 2,000 years to vote in a secular election.

Thankful for a busy month of @CFFlourishing events, featuring Samuel James, Matthew Kaemingk and Shadi Hamid, and Lucas Morel.
This is obviously what will happen. It’s a culmination and continuation of the last decade-plus of confirmation politics. And it isn’t good.
It is quite possible that the new rule — the Schumer Rule? — will be that if one party has the majority, it will _never_ hold a hearing on a Supreme Court nominee from a president of the other party, no matter how much time remains until the next election. Democrats talk a lot about expanding the Supreme Court, but if, God forbid, there’s an unexpected vacancy in the next two years, they may well end up shrinking it temporarily.
Progression of a campaign signage battle at a key intersection in my small town.
Local politics is the best.
There's a segment of the right, including Very Online Christians, who claim conservative Christians like me need to "get on board" with Vance 2028.
Maybe we're hesitant not because Orange Man Bad, but because Vance may turn out to be an awful candidate?

Yes. Every Christian should steward their citizenship wisely. I believe every Christian should vote. But the vote doesn’t begin in November every two years. It begins earlier. In primaries. In showing up and choosing the best candidate who matches character and policy. In local elections. In the things you choose to speak out about and those things you choose to be silent about.
If your only framework for politics is two weeks in November, you are not that engaged. You are disengaged.

I was on the stage with them for one of their debates. Eric began his remarks with “Jane, you ignorant slut.” Hard to forget something like that!
That Mr. French has debated me twice is "pure fiction." Also, he has lifted humorlessness into an art form, bringing a level of dedication to it that is genuinely impressive. Sad!

David French and Eric Metaxas participated in two public debates in 2020: one at the Q Virtual Summit in April and another at John Brown University in October on whether Christians should vote for Trump:
