really love when we push our creative limits for big moments around the league — this piece was a long time in the making!
big thanks to @gregcicle for working his magic & teaching us plenty about infinite zoom art in the process
and 🫡 to Lucho, such a deserving MVP
Took his game to another dimension & had a season for the ages. ✨
@fccincinnati’s Lucho Acosta is the 2023 Landon Donovan MLS MVP!
watching WAY MORE judge judy than i'd like because every champions league match on paramount+ takes me to a local CBS channel instead
help me out @paramountplus 😂
it’s worth noting that we’ve never geo-blocked highlights on MLS social channels (at least since I started in 2015)…
that’s probably why big moments from Zlatan and Rooney were able to put up similar numbers to Messi, but Messi’s overall reach is still in a class of his own
Look at the differences in these engagement numbers between Messi's big free kick for PSG vs his free kick last night for Miami..
1st image - American Ligue 1 coverage (124k)
2nd image - UK Ligue 1 coverage (3.1m)
3rd image - Argentine Ligue 1 coverage (258k)
4th image - MLS coverage of the goal last night (11.4m)
3.5 million engagements combined for the first 3 after 6 months, while MLS's will hit 15 million on that one tweet by lunch. The official Ligue 1 account doesn't even have a video of the Messi goal against Lille.
This is why geo-locking sports content is a killer for growth in 2023 and another reason why the MLS / Apple deal is incredible for MLS.
does staying up *late* to cover Messi madness and then hopping on an early train to Philly for Union-Tijuana make you a @LeaguesCup sicko? asking for a friend!

As people who watched are aware, in yesterday's #MLSAllStar game I had the absolute pleasure of speaking to both Folarin Balogun & Bukayo Saka of @Arsenal
I understand the American soccer narrative is an easy punching bag, but let's all be better. The game is about to explode here. We are ready, hope you are too 😉❤️⚽️
For the internet weirdos ... @JillianSakovits knew who she was talking to.
(For those accounts that want to make fun of the error from the truck production, fine. That's part of the internet. But this video is the reality.)
⚽️ @MLS social is hiring ⚽️
1. help us cover everything (!) happening across the league with a focus on match nights: soc.cr/3JGJG3T
2. oversee the development of our tiktok creator program along with other platform opportunities: soc.cr/3rbwTjH
working on the league side, you don’t have many opportunities to end up in the content graveyard…
which probably makes it feel worse when it happens 🙃
fully deserved for León & we’ll ride again next year
new york has turned me into a monster* and there’s no going back
*confidently jaywalking across every street in montreal to the horror of those around me
putting “chai” and “roti” in today’s crossword while I’m still making the India-vacation-back-to-work transition? low blow, @nytimes
lifelong @KKRiders fan here, just checking in from eden gardens – at Kolkata, India
Matt Turner for an Oscar imo
Matt Turner's preparing the Gunners for a stateside trip to remember.
@Arsenal will face the best of MLS in Washington, DC, for the 2023 #MLSAllStar Game presented by @Target!
