Spent 150% of my weekly usage in Codex in 2 days trying to get it to modify my bounty-hunting harness... did NOT work.
Loaded up Opus 4.6 ... gave it a run down... and it roasted the fuck out of GPT-6.1, worked for literally 30 minutes, and completed the task.
I love OpenAI, but the past 2-3 days with Codex have been the laziest, most off-track experience I've had with their models in 2 years
Kind of crazy that as AI gets better and better, stories like these will become significantly less common
Homeschooled in Nassau, the Bahamas, Hannah Cairo learned maths mostly from Khan Academy, finished calculus by 11 and taught herself from graduate textbooks. At 14 she joined the Berkeley Math Circle, and she later took graduate courses at UC Berkeley.
In one of them, a homework problem came with an optional extra tied to the Mizohata-Takeuchi conjecture, a 40-year-old question about how overlapping waves concentrate their energy. She built a counterexample and posted it on 10 February 2025, at 17. She then applied to 10 PhD programs, and six rejected her for not having a college degree. The University of Maryland took her.
She had no high school diploma. She had just disproved a 40-year-old conjecture.
I'm so sick of seeing these stupid ass accounts all posting the same shit
"If AI can make a startup in one weekend... why haven't you?"
"Be honest, what would you choose? $5k MRR solor or $10k MRR with 3 co-founders?"
"If someone gave you a business with 1,000 paying customers, what's the first thing you would do? Would you take it?"
Meanwhile they all have several hundred likes and retweets... are we just not caring about engagement farming accounts or?
