Always a good and healthy sign when the stock market looks like it's opening up a black hole.

EA employees are speaking out about mismanagement, GenAI push and BioWare’s closure🚀 ✅Employees report that the "do less, better" mantra has simply resulted in handling the same workload with fewer staff. ✅Upper management is heavily promoting generative AI (specifically Claude), telling staff that adoption is mandatory for the future. ✅Workers believe the technology is being pushed to test how drastically EA can cut headcount while maintaining output. BioWare’s Decline & Closure ✅BioWare was repeatedly forced to abandon its strengths (narrative choice, consequences, companions) to chase unprofitable live-service and multiplayer trends, wasting significant resources. ✅Studio leadership grew overly reliant on user experience research (UXR) and fear-driven decision-making, stifling creative risk-taking before the studio's closure. Source: Vertical Slice Disappointed, but definitely not surprised. So much of what’s said reflects very much how many of us felt, as it was quite obvious for the last 10-15 years. Risk-averse development, “do less” mentality, cost-cutting..etc. I feel really bad for the studios and talents that had to be suffocated under EA’s mentality. It’s obvious what kind of people they were ever since they tried to gaslight gamers into thinking single player gaming to be dead.

The EA buyout was financed with $20 billion extra company debt. You're going to see the most dogshit slop imaginable come out from EA, which is really saying something considering this is EA we're talking about.
After more EA layoffs last week, a new report cites workers at the company complaining of "terrible" morale and "heavily pushed" generative AI like Claude. One called EA "a cold dead place that's slowly decaying as leadership pilfers every last cent." destructoid.com/ea-workers-c…

The reason you use dish soap is because it's a surfactant that lifts away germs which you then rinse away. The average dish sponge also contains an ungodly amount of bacteria. Those plates are not clean, lol.
POV: Washing my dirty dishes in the Airbnb, because I'm not the kind of person who leaves my mess for someone else to clean up. My son and I spent 10 mins tidying up. Simple.

Not a fan of this product personally, but assuming an average of 20 folds per day, your device would last around 10 years.
the iPhone Duo broke after 75k folds very disappointing to see for a ~ $2000 phone

I also don't think the way they tested this device is entirely realistic either. People don't constantly fold and unfold their phone relentlessly like this test did. It might last even longer with casual use. The battery is more likely to give out before the that screen does.

If Steam is as awful as you say (you never seem to shut up about it), then you'd think after all these years Epic Game Store would have caught up by now, and wouldn't need to keep giving away free games to entice gamers away from the platform.
Exactly this. Valve has held gaming back for years by locking developers’ PC games into Steamworks’ social walled garden where players can’t talk to other players on iOS, Android, Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, or even other PC stores.

You can use Steam Datagram Relay (and its servers) on any platform as long as your title ships on Steam. partner.steamgames.com/doc/features/m…

I now fundamentally understand why the Epic Games can't get it's store off the ground The people who are/were within their organization don't actually grasp what Steam offers to end users from a UX perspective.
I'm gonna spell this out because this issue is deceptively subtle: 1. The Steam client and infrastructure is somewhere between "not that hard" and "trivial". It's a download service attached to a payment processor with a smattering of services on the side. Cloud providers handle all the infrastructure these days. 2. Steam takes 30% of gross revenue; ostensibly for the privilege of using these services, but in reality it is purely to get access to the massive Steam userbase. 3. Steam users love Steam and having their whole library in one place. It works. It's dependable. It has sales and cards and achievements, oh my! 4. PC developers have no option but to distribute through Steam or lose the vast majority of sales. Not releasing on Steam destroys the business model. 5. Therefore, no amount of competition will ever unseat Steam. People post-hoc rationalize this with memes about how gracious Gabe is. And how brilliant their services are. But realistically, no avid Steam user wants other stores to succeed. The mere existence of other stores risks splintering their precious collection. They are "all in" on Steam. Invested. Even if an alternative were objectively better, by whatever metric you care about, it would still be of no interest to Steam users. They would in fact find it to be a problem and a threat to their investment. Competition in this space is not only uninteresting to most Steam users, it's actively denigrated! The CONSEQUENCE of this situation, is that 30% of all gross revenue is siphoned out of the PC games industry into a black hole. It doesn't recirculate into studios. It doesn't pay any bonuses. It doesn't fund any sequels or DLC. This is a particularly insidious tax because it's well hidden. It's a second order effect. Most Steams users don't know, and the few that do never consider the aggregate effect this has on their favorite hobby. It's undeniable that, at this point in history, Valve could EASILY lower the distribution fee while maintaining healthy margins. But they don't have to. Users are locked into Steam and therefore developers are stuck paying 30% of gross revenue to Valve. The irony is that Steam users, the very ones maintaining this unbreakable stalemate, would benefit the most from a better financed game development ecosystem. I don't think this is fixable. It's just sad.

wholesome search and rescue tech will also come with a payload delivery system that will bring hikers snacks that weighs exactly 3kg
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks. By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time. Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

I've been asked about early voting analysis. The dilemma I have is that my platform is big enough such that being too blunt can have an effect on morale. I'll push out new states and tools out to my website soon, but won't announce them here on 𝕏. I will be giving @realJeremyCarl my predictions a week in advance so he can hold me accountable after Election Day. You MUST turn out and bring their friends, and brace yourself on election night. Even TX is going to be a fight.

The more I see thumbnails and graphics like this the more I think of casinos that are all neon lights and garish colours everywhere. I think AI does something to the brain that genuinely makes this shit appealing to people when it looks like abysmal dogshit to everyone else.
Scientists need to start studying the brain chemistry of people who think thumbnails like this look good.
