is there a word for putting off the decision by having an agent make bespoke software to help make the decision easier only it's not at all a software problem and just a regular real world decision

When I made my account for United Airlines 12 years ago, I added my middle name because the field said (OPTIONAL).
And since then, whenever I fly with them, there is a 20% chance of it being a total pain in the ass because it smashes my first name and last name together. My ID neither has my middle name nor the wonderful concatenation of Davidmichael.
I have started this process thrice over the years. But it requires printing out a form and having it notarized.
So yes, it only took 20 minutes including the walk to the notary down the road.
It will be worth it in the future but it doesn't apply to upcoming flights. Cool cool.
