First Lady Remi Tinubu appointed Dayo as Director of youth mobilization for PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council, dislodging Ayo Olawande who was announced officially as Director, signed by Hope Uzodinma. Apparently, Seyi Tinubu who is respected as the overall APC youth leader, and convener of the City Boy Movement, had selected Ayo Olawande as the Director for the 2027 campaign, reportedly because members are not pleased with Dayo. Ayo Olawande is currently the Minister For Youth Development under the Pres. Tinubu Administration; ST believes he’s more suited to execute and interpret his political plans for 2027 success. Perhaps Dayo got wind of this and allegedly went behind Seyi to convince his mother, Remi Tinubu, that he’d do a better job than the Minister, arguing that his long tenure as youth leader made it his responsibility. The First Lady saw reason, appointed him, essentially overriding Seyi Tinubu and the PCC announcement, which People’s Gazzette reports that she did it to reduce ST’s influence on the APC youth structure. Last week, Dayo Israel announced himself Director of PCC 2027. His loyalists and supporters amplified the announcement, while ST and Olawande’s faction debunked and rejected it. But it had little effect, as yesterday, Dayo, arguably a more experienced and politically astute figure, announced the disbursement of brand new Toyota Prado jeeps worth ₦140-150 million each to his loyalists across all 36 states to aid their mobilisation., Courtesy of “Mummy,” First Lady Remi Tinubu, further reinforcing reports of his strong political backing ahead of the 2027 elections. A political masterstroke, as many have described it, but on the flip side, it caused further division within the APC youth ranks. Everyone is complaining. Particularly, those who didn’t benefit from this merry-not-go-round are lamenting neglect, lack of awareness, and empathy for “Nigerians”, as they all claim. All arguing that, while they defend the government policies and tell people to endure, people like Dayo go around flaunting wealth and making their work difficult. Nigerians generally are also saying, Dayo proved that APC do not care the people. That’s why, they spend over a billion on vehicles, while there are many hospitals without ambulance, MRI or Defibrillators, Beds, etc.. Dayo deleted the video and subsequently made another post, reiterating the underlying message of the deleted Prado tweet: “You cannot follow Dayo diligently and be left stranded.
