I use my @nytimes account on two devices, my phone and my work computer. Yet I am constantly bombarded with bullshit verification requests and pitches to upgrade to a family account. Cancelling soon @NYTimesPR douche bags,

These are four books that really shaped how I think about the kind of society we want to build.
And I'm a former high school teacher, so unfortunately this is the part where I assign homework to the comments section: Which books have had the biggest impact on you?
When even @AP says “an historic” ask yourself if you live in “an house.”

45 years ago tonight, June 9, 1978, the Boston Celtics selected Larry Bird with their 6th pick in the 1st round of the NBA Draft. Bird opted to stay in college for his senior year and Celtics had exactly one year to sign him or he'd go back into 1979 draft.
On June 8, 1979, Larry Bird inked a five-year rookie deal worth $650,000 per year, it was the most lucrative deal for a first-year player in NBA history. In fact, only four veterans — Moses Malone, David Thompson, Bill Walton, and Artis Gilmore — were making as much or more.

Final Necropsy Results Released For Mountain Lion P-22
“P-22 was a fascinating animal to study," said Jeff Sikich, the lead field biologist of the NPS mountain lion study. "Not only was he an important ambassador for urban wildlife, but his scientific contributions were also many. He helped us understand how mountain lions coexist with humans in this complex urban landscape, and his legacy will live on through our heightened awareness of how to live in harmony with wild neighbors and growing public support for wildlife crossings."

Happy Flag Day! I really love the flag of my Tribe, the Mashpee Wampanoag. Native nations have a collection of beautiful flags that are as diverse as Indian Country itself.
