The family says they've been at the memorial multiple times & visit when theyā€™re in Minneapolis. With tears, they talk about their appreciation of the caretakers that have been tending to the memorial each day. Alex's mother says she saves every single post she sees about Alex.

In 2024, Lakeshore Care submitted an application for what was called a emergency shelter w/ 24 beds for those recovering from illness/medical procedures. It faced strong opposition with public safety concerns and drug use. Instead, the building will now just sell drugs.

CoreCivic announced today they've finalized a 5 year contract with ICE to re-open itā€™s long closed prison in Appleton, Minnesota to hold up to 1,600 detainees.

Sabri is an interesting character. Heā€™s Palestinian-born, and has Minnesota politicians at all levels on speed dial. When he calls, they answer. He called a Somali state representative and asked him to do an interview with me. When the politician wouldnā€™t commit, he said: ā€œEnough with the politician bullshit. Are you gonna give him 10 minutes or not?ā€ (The interview never happened). 3/?
