So…it’s been a year since I posted here. I suppose I should update for anyone who’s listening.
A lot has happened since then. I graduated with my Bachelor’s, started an adult job, and, regrettably, shelved my passion project, Daylight.

Safe to say, this new prospect for my story brings me some excitement. Especially since I can build on already developed characters that I’ve put years of love into. I want to see where this goes, which comes to the reason I’ve written this thread…

…Daylight is getting a rewrite! I don’t know how long this will take, especially since I’m still working full-time and I’m going back to grad school soon. I especially don’t know who will care since I doubt anyone is reading this. But if anyone is there, wish me luck!

Along the way, I came up with new stories and new characters, which I do want to write eventually. But it was only a couple nights ago that my spark for Daylight returned…in the form of an entirely different plot.

This was mostly due to burnout and the querying process. It was rigorous and took time I didn’t have to dedicate towards it. And with rejection after rejection, it was safe to say I gave up. I put my writing to the side and put my focus towards my life after college.

During this period, I took some time to reflect. I started Daylight in high school, which is crazy to think about how that was nearly 5 years ago now. I was only 17. Since then, I’ve learned a lot about life, and I like to think I’ve grown up a bit more.
