Not a single business owner in English coastal flooded areas blaming the Gvt. It’s all political. Aided and abetted by the colonial MSM of course.

Last week a well known Labour supporting business man called @JohnSwinney a "dictator", today Tory business woman thinks @StephenFlynnSNP should act like King Canute & hold back the waves: xitter.cf/JohnnyDundee/status/21… The Brits in Scotland are becoming more hysterical by the day.
STV News reporter Vanessa Taafft should take full responsibility for not informing viewers that shop owner Toni Dawson's attempts to politicise Storm damage is down to her being an ex-Tory Party candidate for the area. Doing the Tories dirty work, Vanessa? xitter.cf/msm_monitor/status/211…

June 6, 1944. An American paratrooper jumps into Normandy in the dark and lands on the roof of a church. By the end of the war he had been declared dead, held a funeral he didn't attend, escaped the Nazis, and fought his way toward Berlin in a Soviet tank unit. His name was Joseph Beyrle. He's believed to be the only American soldier to serve in both the US Army and the Red Army during World War Two. Beyrle was from Muskegon, Michigan. He joined the 101st Airborne, the Screaming Eagles. His buddies called him Jumpin' Joe. On D-Day night his plane was hit by flak and he jumped early. He came down on a church roof, slid off, and lost his unit in the chaos. For a few days he fought on his own, blowing up a power station and cutting German communications. Then he was captured. Here's where it gets strange. A German soldier ended up wearing Beyrle's uniform and dog tags. That German was killed. When the body was found, the Americans identified it as Joseph Beyrle. The army told his parents their son was dead. His hometown held a funeral mass for him. His obituary ran in the local paper. Meanwhile, he was very much alive, being moved from one German prison camp to another. He escaped more than once. One time he and two other prisoners jumped off a train heading east. They thought they were heading for Russia and freedom. They got lost and ended up in Berlin, where they were caught by the Gestapo, beaten, and tortured. In January 1945, from a camp in eastern Germany, he finally made a clean escape. He went east, toward the gunfire. Toward the Soviets. When he found a Soviet tank unit, he walked out with his hands up, holding a pack of Lucky Strike cigarettes, and shouted the only Russian he knew. American comrade. It worked. He asked to join them. And they said yes. For about a month, an American paratrooper rode with Soviet tank crews as they pushed toward Germany. He used his demolition training. He fought. He was reportedly welcomed by a Soviet officer who was one of the rare women commanding a tank battalion. Then a German dive bomber attacked. Beyrle was badly wounded. He was evacuated to a Soviet hospital. Soviet Marshal Georgy Zhukov reportedly visited, heard his story, and gave him papers to get to the American embassy in Moscow. When he showed up, the embassy didn't believe him. As far as the US was concerned, Joseph Beyrle was dead. They held him under guard until his fingerprints proved who he was. He made it home to Michigan in April 1945. In 1946 he got married. In the same church where they'd held his funeral. Decades later, in 1994, he was honored at the White House by President Bill Clinton and Russian President Boris Yeltsin for serving both countries. And the last twist. His son, Joseph Beyrle II, grew up to become the United States Ambassador to Russia.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Joseph Robert “Joe” Beyrle had two sons. The elder son, Joe Beyrle II, served during the Vietnam War, but wasn’t a US Ambassador. That was the other son, John Beyrle. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseph_Be…

The Largs shop owner, and former Tory candidate, who berated Stephen Flynn after her shop was flooded spoke to BBC Scotland last year about drains being covered by tarmac. A work order to remove it was raised by Amey as a priority after the firm was contacted by BBC Scotland. So, was the work carried out? The article also says staff now remove stock off the floor every night and place sandbags down in the hope it will prevent possible damage. Was this done prior to the storm? Given the focus on Toni Dawson by the BBC and STV and the subsequent media attacks on Stephen Flynn, this story needs further examination. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2n…

Hey @STVNews pray tell, how can you blame @StephenFlynnSNP for North Ayrshire Council paving over the drains in Largs? Absolutely dreadful biased reporting. No journalism, just British Anglo State propaganda.

Yes @vanessataaffe on STV News tonight really did say to Stephen Flynn ‘you blocked over the drains, do you take any responsibility for the flooding’. What an embarrassment for @WeAreSTV What is STV coming to? @STVColin @stvnewsandrew @STVKellyAnn @stvewan

Thank you to the many business owners I heard from in Largs. Despite the enormous challenges faced in recent days you were incredibly generous with your time. And to Fairlie residents who showed me the damage on their doorstep. A stark reminder of the power of this storm.

Imagine living in a country (Scotland) where the SNP Gvt: Remove prescription charges Remove toll booths Remove tuition fees Help families with: Child payment Baby box School bag Free bus travel Best start Grant Heating Allowance…etc & still somehow we get this. 🙄
"Imagine you are the parent of a new primary 1 pupil, and that you have been desperately struggling to get by. You are having to choose between heating and eating, perhaps missing meals yourself so that your child doesn’t go hungry. "You’d love to give them access to all the same experiences as those from the wealthier parts of the country take for granted, but you just can’t afford it. "And then along comes the Scottish Government, expecting you to believe that handing over a school bag for which they have been seriously over-charged is somehow going to level the playing field. "It’s not just a stupid claim – it’s also completely tone deaf and suggests that our government is led by people with little to no serious grasp of the problems they claim to be tackling on our behalf." Why on earth are the SNP spending £30 per head on 'free' P1 school bags? || James McEnaney 👇 𝘐𝘔𝘈𝘎𝘌: 𝘑𝘢𝘯𝘦 𝘉𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘰𝘸/𝘗𝘈 𝘈𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘷𝘦/𝘗𝘈 𝘐𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘴

There’s a reason Scotland doesn’t want Nuclear but Sleekit Alexander won’t tell you this. Once they are finished it is Scotland that is left to deal with all of the nuclear scrap. You only have to see all of the scrap nuclear subs sitting rotting in Rosyth Naval base.
Here in East Lothian, Torness shows nuclear can bring Scotland reliable power & skilled jobs. The UK Labour Govt is backing a new age of nuclear and thousands of jobs in England. It's time for the SNP Scottish Govt to reconsider its position so that Scotland doesn’t miss out.

BBC Scotland has already turned yesterday's storm into an attack on the SNP Govt. Katie Hunter interviewed Stephen Flynn after some businesses were flooded and pressed him on what he was going to do about it. Whether the SNP Govt would now commit to bailing every business out. This immediate politicisation of a natural event by the BBC only happens in Scotland.

Stand by Scotland, they are coming for our water: xitter.cf/breeallegretti/status/…
Exc: Ministers have been secretly warned that some English reservoirs are at risk of running dry, hitting water supplies to homes in the run-up to Christmas. The government’s emergency committee, known as Cobra, is meeting up to twice a week to discuss the situation in the southwest of England and Sussex. A secret “reasonable worst-case scenario” was drawn up, anticipating that several reservoirs’ water stocks could fall to 0 per cent — dubbed “day zero” — within weeks. Officials warned that without action, supplies to some homes could be affected, along with disruption to the construction of a nuclear power station and operations at a prison. Steps have been taken by ministers and water companies to try to mitigate the risks, which insiders stressed were already starting to push back the “day zero” dates. Experts on the government’s Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage) have also been brought in to help review water companies’ modelling for protecting stocks for the weeks ahead. Heatwaves over the summer left half of England in drought. Sussex and the southwest were the most severely affected. Wimbleball reservoir, which supplies more than 400,000 people in Somerset, has 13 per cent of its capacity, while Ardingly, which serves 280,000 customers across West Sussex, is at 17 per cent, figures from yesterday show. Reasonable worst-case scenario plans were drawn up by the government, setting out a “day zero” envisaging Wimbleball and Ardingly reservoirs’ stocks being completely depleted by December. Subsequently, the government privately said it was told by South West Water that it did not anticipate Wimbleball running dry due to measures it had put in place. South East Water is also taking action that has shifted Whitehall “day zero” forecasts at Ardingly into next year. Even if the reservoirs did run completely dry, water companies would probably be able to transfer supplies from elsewhere. However, significant concerns remain in government about water disruption to properties supplied by Devon’s Venford reservoir in early November. “Day zero” risk monitoring has also started for Cornwall’s Stithians and Drift reservoirs. Water companies were asked to model the impact of water-saving measures, which have been scrutinised by members of Sage. Ministers were told that shortages could affect daily operations at HMP Exeter and the construction of Hinkley Point C, a nuclear power station being built in Somerset. Normal levels of rainfall over autumn and winter will not be enough to counteract the effects of the drought, which was extended to cover Yorkshire this month. Officials have calculated there will need to be 120 per cent of long-term average rainfall over the next six months for a nationwide recovery.
