Want to help seniors? Abolish property taxes. Want to help first time homebuyers? Abolish property taxes. Want to help working class get a new vehicle? Abolish property taxes. Want to help make a buffer for when gas prices get out of hand? Abolish property taxes.

The governor of Oregon announced that 1/3 of Oregon citizens are on Medicaid. Medicaid! 1/3! And she didn’t even sound like it was a big deal. The government is the number one employer in the state and 1/3 of its citizens are on Medicaid. We live in a screwed up state. We have got to fix it and we have got to fix it fast.

New car prices just crossed $50,000. Up nearly $12,000 since Covid. 50 grand used to buy a luxury car that impressed the ladies. Now it buys an average car that impresses the loan officer. And leaves Gen Z riding a bicycle.

Activists called for an AI slowdown. Then politicians. Now even AI CEOs say it. It’s a bad idea. Here’s why America should not slow down AI:

Many Oregonians do not realize that the voter-passed 3% property tax cap is under attack by Tina Kotek and the Democrats. If they succeed in removing it, many Oregonians will be forced out of their homes under the crushing weight of skyrocketing property taxes. Vote @ChristineDrazan. #voteredinstead
Did you know Oregon’s 3% cap on how fast your home’s taxable value can rise comes from Measure 50 the 1997 voter-approved limit that followed Measure 5? That cap is one of the few things stopping your tax bill from chasing the housing market. Now Salem wants another look at it. Cities have been lobbying to reopen Measures 5 and 50, the Legislature stood up a task force to study those voter-passed limits, and Governor Kotek’s own economic council put “asking voters to make property tax changes” on the table. That is not a rumor. That is them coming back for more of your house. Vote Kotek out. A vote for anyone other than Christine Drazan is a vote to keep the same crowd that treats your tax cap like a problem to be “fixed.” VOTE DRAZAN IN NOVEMBER.

Gallup finds record 89% of Americans think government corruption is "widespread." It's actually higher (91%) among Democrats. Who somehow manage to think government is deeply corrupt *and* deserves trillions more to give to its cronies 🤡

🚨 OREGON'S UNIVERSAL HEALTH CARE PLAN: THE TAX BILL IS STARTING TO COME INTO FOCUS Oregon's Universal Health Plan Governance Board is working on a government-run universal health care system. This is a years-long Oregon Democratic policy project that has now advanced under Kotek from a task-force concept into an official implementation and financing plan - with Kotek signing the enabling legislation and appointing its governing board. And the preliminary tax numbers are staggering. The board's financing work has been built around roughly $17–18+ BILLION PER YEAR in state replacement revenue — primarily through new taxes on individuals and employers. That's not a one-time expenditure. That's an enormous new annual state revenue structure. The preliminary financing proposal has included: 🔴 A new 10.1% Health Care Personal Income Taxon income above 200% of the federal poverty level. 🔴 A new 9.6% employer payroll tax on payroll above a proposed $500,000 exemption. 🔴 A 3 percentage-point increase in the corporate income tax. 🔴 An additional 0.10 percentage-point Corporate Activity Tax. These aren't final rates. In fact, that's part of the problem. The board was supposed to deliver its comprehensive plan in September. That work is now being pushed into December while major questions about financing remain unresolved.

IP28 didn’t make the ballot — but the campaign isn’t going away. After raising more than 140,000 signatures and missing the threshold only because of verification issues, organizers are already signaling they’ll try again to ban hunting, fishing, and even basic wildlife management in Oregon. Their latest statement makes it clear: the movement is growing, and they’re preparing for another run. bit.ly/4foOT0y @oregoncatalyst

Idaho just showed what real wildfire leadership looks like. As the Big Grass Fire blew past 300,000 acres, Gov. Little declared an emergency, mobilized the National Guard, and moved straight to full suppression — aircraft up, crews deployed, communities protected. Meanwhile, Oregon is still tangled in process while volunteer crews are stretched thin and officials openly admit response capacity is limited. Wildfire doesn’t wait for bureaucracy; Idaho acted, and Oregon should take notes. Wildfire doesn’t wait for bureaucracy. Idaho acted. Oregon should take notes. bit.ly/4xdSO6j @portlandtribune
