Valentina is living proof. 🎓
Nationally, only 19–25% of first-gen, low-income students earn a bachelor’s. DC CAP Scholars, like Valentina, graduate at 76% across 5 years, over 3x the national rate.
That's because DC CAP’s proven model provides full support for every scholar, from enrollment to graduation.

A college degree opens doors for all first-gen, low-income students. Valentina founded two small businesses while in college, and her degree led to a prestigious internship at the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA).
Next: a master's at the University of Texas at Austin.

Nearly 32% of @marymountu students identify as Hispanic or Latino. Behind that number is a campus working to remove the barriers Latino students often face on the way to a degree.
This #HispanicHeritageMonth, we are spotlighting Marymount University, Virginia's first Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). 🎉
