Hardest thing ever written award
Inspired by @Sauers_ and @jfonsecarivera and other fun recent work with personas in AI models, I built a partial neuron atlas for Talkie-1930, the historical language model created by @status_effects and @AlecRad. Here's the link: talkieneurons.vercel.app

It turns out math was only beautiful because we weren't looking for the incredibly ugly stuff
A pessimistic hypothesis for complexity theory: every simple and beautiful algorithm can be made log(n)^epsilon faster by making it incredibly ugly

Here's a direct link to OpenAI's PDF claiming a refutation of ETH. In particular, it's claimed that 3SAT on n variables is in about exp(n/(log n)^{1/2+o(1)}) time github.com/openai/math/blob/…

EXCLUSIVE: In less than 12 hours, a group of ex-DOGE cyber researchers were able to penetrate Anthropic’s systems using AI agents — including Slack channels where the most sensitive models are discussed. This is just weeks after Anthropic whistleblower Joseph Coxon charged the company w/launching “a hubristic gamble” from a “private company’s Slack.” Read our story here (gift link): wapo.st/4smNlsC

Dessa, @jack's speech-to-speech voice model, but she's an NFT artist who created a "somatic platform on the blockchain this gives me flashbacks of 2021 @inversebrah
We made the first AI model you can have a realistic conversation with that was trained entirely on speech! Dessa is a full-duplex speech-to-speech model that you can run on consumer GPUs. This is a GPT3 moment for speech.

it's telling the truth now @inversebrah
New blog post: We let Qwen3.5-2B pick its own reward in RL. This ends up eliciting very diverse model personas, ranging from humany-talk 🧍, bliss ✨, universe lover 🪐, to the Guardian Angel of China 🛡️.

My latest song/video is getting a lot of comments so let me explain a few things: 1 - The song was created from a hook I recorded as a hum; it guides the entire song; you hear that exact hook on repeat as the foundation of the entire song (even the bagpipes echo it). 2 - To generate the song itself it took 108 song generations in Suno; each one listened to, adjusted, modified and prompts tweaked to get it closer to the finish line. 3 - No specific artist was used to guide the style; the style was prompted as "Folk, Acoustic pop, folk-pop" AI is incredible; creative people everywhere will produce amazing creative work with it, and we will be the lucky ones to be able to enjoy it. It's a wonderful tool; it empowers and unlocks tremendous creative potential. Having said that, the human has the steering wheel; if you defer to the AI for all creative output, it may produce greatness, but it is more likely to reverse to the mean, and averageness. It's no different from any other creative tool. Embrace it, use it, master it and compel it to create your vision.

a friend of mine died yesterday, and my last messages to him was me asking him for my money back he borrowed money from me and hadn't returned it and so I kept asking. we were friends for more than a decade. we used to speak about Star Trek episodes, cool places to visit in Japan, and weird new apps and tech stuff we made. instead of those fun things, the last few months of my messages to him were just variations of "dude, where's my money" from me and "i'll have it by the end of the month" from him. ... years ago i had a rule: never lend money to friends. loans ruin friendships. i wish i kept to that rule tbh

Meet Dessa, our AI model trained from scratch on nothing but speech. We believe speech is the natural interface for technology. So we built Dessa. And we’re inviting AI safety researchers to explore Dessa. Learn more: block.xyz/dessa
