Folks I’ve been in Policing & law & order for decades Like every other police officer I saw what was happening; the first day out on patrol I was told by an old sweat “PC Brennan there are certain groups of people who hate us & will always hate us & will never work with us no matter how nice we are to them; just police without fear or favour & you will be Ok” Over the decades I got the gist of what he meant! Highlight an ethnic issue/problem & you are apparently deemed Racist! So often now we see angry groups shouting No Justice No Peace; basically thats an Implied threat don’t do what we tell you & give us the justice that WE WANT then you can expect public disorder; (in Britain we have a CJS that is for all so you can only demand what that can deliver) You can absolutely & have the right to expect justice but its NOT a justice you can Insist upon other than the SAME justice that EVERYONE is entitled to! Disorder/Riots are just ONE ‘Controversial’ police shooting away just like that of Mark Duggan; it didn’t crack off after the shooting of Chris Kaba because many got the gist that the police had probably done the right thing under extremely difficult circumstances & the family/friends were not able to garner the outrage that was drummed up after the Duggan shooting ie summer hot anger an agitated youth; Police had expected disorder & so did the CPS & IOPC hence MET Firearms officer NX121 was thrown under the bus & charged with MURDER that was called APPEASEMENT ie the Jury took just minutes to acquit NX121 & sent a Note to the trial judge asking why the officer had actually been charged for doing his job? Yes for decades London in particular has always been a very difficult place to police in relation to diversity; few if us can deny at times police have done themselves no favours ie the Sus Laws etc But policing has changed & often held its hand out in an offer of friendship But ‘some’ will never take that hand as they see the police as the enemy! Most Shooting/Stabbing Murders in London are committed by Young Black Men/Youths predominantly against OTHER Black Men/Youths & hey ho the police have to deal with such & are so often between a rock & a hard place; FLO’s are too often in a Mortuary with the families of a young child laying on a slab still & lifeless the body is now evidence so touching such is not always straightforward; often Mum is screaming & bereft & Dad distraught as he tries to comfort Mum; they shout “Please do something; anything to STOP another family going through what we are going through ie planning a funeral rather than a bright future for their child; 👇 Certain Black groups complain as to why 7 out of 10 S&S’s are carried out on young Black Males well it 7 out of 10 Murders/Stabbings ie in London are carried out by young Black Males well who is it that you expect the police to S&S? So are the Statistics Racist? When i was on a Robbery Squad in North London for 6yrs my team followed the statistics as IF? We buckled to the anger of some & decided to reduce S&S then that would NOT be policing without fear or favour🤷‍♂️ Police Chiefs HAVE buckled somewhat as S&S has been reduced from 1.5 Million in 2009 to just 500,000; SO? The detection of Knife carrying/offences has seen quite a big reduction & the GOVT tell everyone how well they are doing against Knife Crime reduction; Increase S&S back up to 1.5 Million & the Knife crime stats would be through the roof; Many police tell me that they AVOID S&S if they can as if a complain is made they can often spend years under Investigation by the @policeconduct so think Fuck It I Won’t bother; Whilst ‘some’ within the Black community oppose S&S they NEVER come up with a workable effective alternative; In my 31yrs I recovered dozens of Knives through S&S from Both Black & White offenders > Yes we DO S&S many WHITE youths/men too! S&S DOES WORK & DOES save lives!! Mind how you go! Thanks!
