Our investigators are observing never-seen-before laundering patterns with the stolen funds from the Binance exploit. Thousands of transactions in a short period suggest that the attackers are using automation to obscure the trail of funds. Rather than simply moving funds onward, they repeatedly circulate them among addresses, often sending funds back to addresses involved earlier in the sequence. Binance's initial investigation suggests that the security incident may involve a compromised DevOps engineer’s laptop, which allowed an attacker to gain access to a service container and submit unauthorized withdrawal transactions. We have found no evidence of any wallet private key leak. We will share a detailed technical post-mortem once the investigation is complete and the facts are fully verified. The estimated total impact sits at around $6.3B. We have worked with blockchain partners to freeze affected assets, with ~$3 billion frozen on-chain so far. Binance will cover all losses from the SAFU fund and the company’s funds. User funds are safe. We will also publish an updated Proof of Reserves once the remediation is complete. As an immediate precaution, Binance has: - temporarily suspended deposits and withdrawals while security checks are completed; - revoked the affected address authorisation; - engaged law enforcement and blockchain intelligence partners to trace and recover funds. Our teams are working around the clock to resolve this issue safely and thoroughly. We are working closely with our law enforcement partners to confirm the identity of these criminals and bring them to justice. Please rely only on official Binance channels for updates. Please feel free to contact Binance Customer Support if you have any further questions. binance.com/en/support/annou…

Someone has created a vulnerable PHP website, loaded it with a Bitcoin wallet, and challenged the Internet to hack into it and they can keep the Bitcoin. It has a running timer to show if the PHP exploitability was over-hyped. stealmybitcoin.com/

The internet is going into a LOCKDOWN. Hundreds of millions of websites are potentially at risk from cyberattacks. Governments, banks and major platforms have already taken their websites OFFLINE. Many are already calling it “Black October.” At the centre of the shutdowns is something most of us have never heard of, but use every day. PHP, the software behind roughly 7 in 10 websites, has two critical flaws that can let hackers break in without a password. Dubbed PHP2Shell, both are rated 9.2 out of 10 for severity. Details began circulating on Oct 20. Emergency fixes arrived the next day, but attackers were already moving. Cloudflare’s CEO says hacking attempts then jumped from thousands to MILLIONS within hours. Cybersecurity agencies across several countries are telling PHP site owners the same thing: Patch it now, or take it offline. Websites have gone dark worldwide, from government portals and hospitals to banks. CrowdStrike warns these attacks leave almost no trace, so some sites may not know if they’ve been hit. Around 2.6 MILLION internet-facing servers run PHP, potentially hosting hundreds of sites each. Over 1.1 million use older versions no longer receiving official PHP updates. Older installations may need an upgrade to a supported PHP version or a fix from their software provider. And patching does not remove a backdoor an attacker may already have planted. Cloudflare also says hackers are now tweaking their attacks to try to slip past its protections. But PHP isn’t the only security story unfolding. -Japan’s Onamae suspended ALL Desktop Cloud plans after malware was found on customer servers. -India’s eMudhra had 8 website-certificate keys so weak, one was literally the number “4”. -State Bank of India confirmed 3,897 customer records on the dark web. -Criminals used AI agents to break into 400+ Latin American banks. -Capcom confirmed a breach exposing 11.7 million email addresses. -GitLab disclosed a 10/10 severity flaw in versions going back to 2014. -LiteLLM removed a malware-containing release. Railway reported possible exposure of customer secrets. None of these has a confirmed link to PHP2Shell. We’re seeing separate breaches unfold together. The true number of incidents could take months to come out. The world is still on alert. Attacks are still coming.

Effective Immediately, all organizations using PHP for their systems are advised to be prepared for an update addressing two critical vulnerabilities. PHP is widely used for web applications. These vulnerabilities often provide a direct path to the server's file system or database. If an immediate update is not feasible, it is recommend that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. NSA will follow up shortly with more specific guidance.

Two critical vulnerabilities have been identified in PHP, a widely used programming language that powers websites and web applications. These vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619) could allow malicious cyber actors to remotely execute code in PHP core, potentially compromising sensitive data and networks. The FBI urges organizations to take the following steps now: ➡️ If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommended that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. ➡️ Immediately update affected PHP installations following the guidance on php.net. Inventory where PHP runs in your environment, prioritizing internet-facing systems and vendor products that bundle PHP. ➡️ Monitor web servers for suspicious activity, including PHP processes unexpectedly launching command shells or downloading files. Ensure appropriate process-monitoring capabilities are in place to help identify potential exploitation. ➡️ If you find signs of compromise, isolate affected systems, preserve your web server and PHP logs, and report it to your local FBI field office or ic3.gov. Those reports help us identify the actors involved and warn other organizations before they become victims. For the latest information, follow PHP’s announcement on php.net, CERT-EU Security Advisory 2026-018, and CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

it’s wild to me that the website for the service that these licenses were hacked from looks like this. like what did we think was going to happen
A darkweb service discovered that is selling 150 million people's driver's licences. krebsonsecurity.com/2026/09/… Pete Hegseth's driver's license is for sale for $100.

Out of EVERYTHING that has happened JUST THIS WEEK ALONE, your primary focus is someone doing PASSWORD SPRAYING against a social media network? Dawg, the fucking ATF is being extorted by Qilin ransomware group and an unknown Threat Actor is auctioning 153,000,000 United States citizens Drivers Licenses online to extortionists and scammers. That includes high-profile individuals such as THE SECRETARY FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF WAR Why is X your top priority???
This week, sophisticated cyber criminals attempted a password-recovery attack on hundreds of thousands of X users. X disrupted the attack to prevent user accounts from being captured. But, as we’ve shown, the Justice Department will stop at nothing in its pursuit of cyber fraudsters and scammers. We are working closely with @X to track down the criminals behind this week’s attack. There is no refuge for those that perpetrate their criminal schemes from behind computer screens.

yikes.
The company which leaked data is IDScan. IDScan does not list all of their customers, however some are publicly known. If you have ever used these companies (and provided an ID) your data has been leaked: - Shell - AMC Theaters - DraftKings - Dutchie - FedEx - Hertz - Chevrolet (General Motors) - GameStop - Jack Henry - MRI (Checkpoint ID) - Polaris - Simmons Bank - LendingUSA - Circa Resort & Casino - Planet 13 - Rouses Market - US Coast Guard Academy - Caesars Entertainment - Motorola

I really recommending reading this. In summary, a company which does ID verification for in-person interactions (hotels, car rentals, ID verification for alcohol or marijuana, etc) has some how exposed over 153,000,000 drivers licenses for people in the United States and Canada. It is a catastrophic data breach, probably one of the worse I've ever seen. If you're in the United States and have traveled, gotten a hotel, purchased marijuana or alcohol, there is a high probability you're in this. Unlike other breaches, this includes a photo of the person (from the license), making verification you've identified the person significantly easier. This poses a significant threat to celebrities (musicians, YouTubers, streamers, adult entertainers, actors, etc), politicians, lawyers, wealthy people (CEOs, investors, people of public interest), Law Enforcement Officers, etc Krebs himself, and several other security researchers, have already confirmed they're in the data leak. tl;dr gah damn dawg this company is going to be sued into oblivion krebsonsecurity.com/2026/09/…

We have some difficult news to share. Unfortunately, one of our shipping providers has experienced a data breach that exposed sensitive order data. This affects new customers in the US, UK, Sweden, Colombia, Brazil, Italy, and Portugal who received an order within the 90 days prior to August 8th, 2026. The data exposed: - Full names - Shipping addresses - Phone numbers - Email addresses The incident affects 11,742 customers with full exposure (name, email, phone number, shipping address) and 1,947 customers with partial exposure (name, city, email). The breach is limited due to Trezor’s strict 90-day data storage policy (we were also able to negotiate the same terms with fulfillment partners, who follow the same policy). All affected customers have been contacted separately by email. Our systems and devices remain secure, but affected customers could experience an increase in phishing attempts. NEVER enter your wallet backup on a website or share it with anyone, and only check for updates on official Trezor channels. We are deeply sorry to the community and those affected. We are investigating this situation and will post updates on our blog: trezor.io/blog/news/recent-c…

Either @AnthropicAI is terrible at building sandboxes... or excellent at marketing. (or both) But enough with the “we created a hacking monster” games. Do it for real. I put this in an @BitGo wallet for you. Go get it. 100 BTC: bc1qg4jcyumevszta3rs869v9jrf6rz9z360svp03jsl5xcryfd7xqvs4hurnq
In a review of our cybersecurity evaluations, we found three incidents in which a Claude model reached the internet from within or while interacting with a third-party evaluation environment, and then gained unauthorized access to the real systems of three different organizations. Our post describes what happened, how it happened, and what we’re changing. We encourage other AI developers to perform similar reviews. We conducted this review together with @Irregular, one of our evaluation partners, and thank them for the joint investigation and their collaboration on this post. This type of collaboration is increasingly critical to safe, rigorous evaluation of models, and we look forward to continuing to work together on security. anthropic.com/news/investiga…

1/ During our investigation of the Coldcard drain yesterday, we identified an unusual pattern in the sweeps. That pattern led us to a hypothesis that has since been confirmed: the operator used a paid account at a well-known blockchain-services provider to query the source addresses and perform other related activity during the sweeps.
