I have watched good, hardworking people lose money in crypto for years.
Not because they were foolish. Because nobody ever sat them down and explained, in simple words, how the trap works.
I build websites and apps for a living, so I see how these things are made behind the scenes. Let me save you some pain.Almost every crypto scam you will ever come across is one of four old tricks. The names change. The logos get fancier.
The promises get louder. But underneath, it is the same game, played the same way, catching the same kind of people.
Read this slowly. Save it. Then send it to that friend who just told you about "a new coin that can only go up." 🧵

Trick 4: The "Guaranteed" Return 📈
This is the oldest trick of all, about a hundred years older than crypto. Only the packaging is new.
"Earn 2% every day." "Double your money in 30 days." "Our system never loses." No honest business can promise that. Real profit goes up and down, because it depends on real people and real markets.
So where does the "guaranteed" money come from? From the next people who join. Early members get paid with newcomers' money, so it looks like it's working. Then fewer new people join, the money runs dry, and it all falls apart. The last ones in lose everything.
If you take only one thing from this thread, take this: if you can't explain where the profit comes from, then you are the profit.
That's the thread. Thank you for reading this far.
If even one of these tricks was new to you, this was worth writing. Crypto itself is not the enemy.
Not understanding it is. Take your time, ask questions, and never let anybody rush you into putting money down.
Save this, share it with someone who is just getting into crypto, and follow me for more simple, no-hype breakdowns.
Stay sharp. Stay safe.

Stop applying to "Remote (US only)" jobs.
If you're a Nigerian dev trying to get paid in Web3, these are the sites that actually work for us 🇳🇬
Bounties & gigs (paid in USDC)
01. ng.superteam .fun, Superteam Nigeria
02. earn.superteam .fun
03. bountycaster .xyz
04. gitcoin .co
Security & audits (top Naija devs are cashing out here)
05. immunefi .com
06. code4rena .com
07. cantina .xyz
08. sherlock .xyz
Grants & builder rewards
09. talentprotocol .com
10. questbook .app
11. esp.ethereum .foundation
Remote roles that accept Africa
12. web3 .career (use the Nigeria filter)
13. jobstash .xyz

The real cheat code:
→ Win 2 bounties before you apply for anything
→ Your on-chain + GitHub record IS your CV
→ Join the Discords, because half the hires never get posted
No visa. No "US only". Just ship.
Repost for the Naija builders on your TL.
