STRENGTHENING OUR TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS, PROMOTING UNITY AND ADVANCING DEVELOPMENT ACROSS PLATEAU STATE
On Wednesday, October 7, 2026, I had the honour of installing His Royal Highness, Miskagam Jerome Goewam Leklat II, as the new Long Pan of Pan Chiefdom and presenting him with the Staff of Office at the Ba’ap Mini Stadium in Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area.
This historic occasion represents more than the installation of a traditional ruler. It marks the restoration of a cherished institution, the preservation of our cultural heritage and the reaffirmation of the common identity that has united the people of Pan for generations.
Since the inception of our administration, we have remained committed to restoring, strengthening and repositioning traditional institutions across Plateau State. We recognise their invaluable contributions to governance, peacebuilding, cultural preservation and community development.
I commend the people of Pan Chiefdom, the traditional council and the royal family for demonstrating maturity, unity and respect for due process throughout the transition following the passing of the late Long Pan, His Royal Highness, Miskagam Emmanuel Dabang, on May 8, 2025.
In my address to the new Long Pan, I urged him to embrace his responsibilities with wisdom, humility, fairness and courage. Leadership must always be about service, inclusion and the collective well-being of the people.
I reminded His Royal Highness that his reign must be defined by the ability to unite rather than divide, to heal rather than reopen old wounds, and to build bridges wherever differences exist.
I also reiterated the important role of our traditional rulers in strengthening community relations, providing credible local intelligence and working closely with security agencies. The security of our communities remains a collective responsibility, and we must continue to work together to protect lives and property across Plateau State.
Beyond strengthening our traditional institutions, our administration remains committed to addressing the challenges affecting our communities, including drug abuse, insecurity and the indiscriminate leasing of ancestral lands for mining activities.
We are developing measures to ensure that mineral resources are responsibly managed and that host communities, legitimate landowners and all relevant levels of government derive appropriate benefits while safeguarding our environment.
I also used the occasion to reaffirm our commitment to accelerating infrastructure development across the Southern Senatorial Zone.
We are determined to complete the 61-kilometre Dokan Tofa–Ba’ap–Kurgwi and Jibam–Dokan Kasuwa Roads and improve access to reliable electricity across the Southern Zone.
These investments are essential to unlocking the economic potential of our communities, stimulating commerce, supporting businesses, creating opportunities and improving the standard of living of our people.
As part of our continued commitment to development, I also commissioned the remodelled Long Pan’s Palace and the newly constructed Snakebite Treatment Centre in Doemak, Qua’an-Pan Local Government Area.
These projects reflect our determination to strengthen traditional institutions while expanding access to essential services that directly improve the lives of our people.
I congratulate His Royal Highness, Miskagam Jerome Goewam Leklat II, on his ascension to the revered throne of Long Pan. I trust that his reign will usher in a new chapter of peace, justice, unity and sustainable development for the people.
Our vision remains clear: to build a peaceful, united and prosperous Plateau State where every community is empowered, every citizen is valued and development reaches every corner of our State.
Together, we will continue to strengthen the institutions that preserve our heritage, build the infrastructure that connects our communities and create opportunities that secure a better future for generations to come.

HEIPANG INLAND DRY PORT: UNLOCKING PLATEAU STATE’S ECONOMIC POTENTIAL
The journey to making the Heipang Inland Dry Port a reality marks a significant milestone in Plateau State’s drive towards economic growth, investment, and prosperity. A legacy project gazetted in 2006, the facility is now taking a major step towards fulfilling its promise under a new investment partnership.
Strategically located near the airport, railway line, and road network, the facility is positioned to become a major logistics and trade hub, serving Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria, and beyond. Its potential is further strengthened by emerging industrial activities in the area, including agro-processing initiatives and export-oriented ventures.
Beyond its infrastructure, the Inland Dry Port represents opportunities for job creation, private-sector investment, improved trade facilitation, and expanded economic opportunities for Plateau’s people.
With the Plateau State Government committed to creating an enabling environment for investors and supporting the project’s development, the focus now shifts from this milestone to the full commencement of operations and the long-term benefits it can deliver.
This is more than the revival of a legacy project; it is a step towards positioning Plateau State as a strategic destination for commerce, logistics, and industrial development.

GOVERNOR MUTFWANG TO PARTNER WITH FIRST BANK TO BOOST PLATEAU ECONOMY
Plateau State Governor, His Excellency, Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has called for deeper collaboration between the Plateau State Government and First Bank of Nigeria to accelerate economic development, particularly in agriculture, mining, energy and rural development.
The Governor made the call when the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of First Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Olusegun Alebiosu, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
Intimating Governor Mutfwang on progress made so far, Alebiosu said the bank was interested in supporting agriculture and rural development in Plateau State, while exploring opportunities in energy, including solar power and power plants, as part of efforts to stimulate economic development.
He said the bank was also willing to support the mining sector and other productive activities, stressing that sustainable economic development required a strong partnership between government and the private sector.
“It is partnership and we need to get those things done,” noting that while investments in areas such as power generation could be driven by the private sector, government had a critical role in creating the enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
The First Bank MD, who commended the Governor for the initiatives being undertaken despite the security challenges confronting the state, said the bank was determined to deepen its relationship with Plateau and contribute to economic empowerment.
He disclosed that First Bank has 11 branches located in Plateau State, urging the state to give the bank the opportunity to do more in supporting its economic aspirations.
Responding, Governor Mutfwang commended First Bank for its transformation over the years, describing the development as evidence that innovation and a willingness to embrace change could produce remarkable results.
Mutfwang further challenged First Bank to consider immortalising the historic legacy of its Terminus branch, which he said was associated with the banking history of former British Prime Minister, John Major.
The Governor also urged the bank to deepen its relationship with Plateau communities, particularly through support for microfinance institutions, saying this would help expand access to financial services, expertise and guarantees for people at the grassroots.
Governor Mutfwang recalled the bank's contributions to Plateau, including its corporate social responsibility intervention for patients at the Jos University Teaching Hospital, and encouraged the institution to make such interventions more sustainable.
He said the state was ready to strengthen its partnership with First Bank, but expressed concern over the difficulty of accessing affordable developmental financing, particularly for agriculture and infrastructure.
“We can't expect upscale production as a nation if we are not able to provide the right financing structure for agriculture,” the Governor said, stressing the need to move beyond consumption to production and processing.
Governor Mutfwang expressed hope that First Bank, through its participation in the Bankers’ Committee and other platforms, would contribute to developing financing mechanisms capable of supporting increased production, processing and economic growth in Plateau State.

66 YEARS OF NIGERIA: RENEWING OUR FAITH IN THE NIGERIAN PROJECT
As we commemorate Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, I join the people of Plateau State and Nigerians everywhere in reflecting on our journey as a nation and renewing our faith in the promise of a peaceful, united and prosperous Nigeria.
Our history reminds us that nation-building is a responsibility passed from one generation to another. Despite the challenges before us, our strength remains in our collective determination to rise above our differences and build a country where every Nigerian has a sense of belonging and the opportunity to thrive.
On the Plateau, our administration remains committed to peace, security, justice and inclusive development. I deeply appreciate the resilience, patience and patriotism of our people as we continue working together towards the Plateau of our dreams.
In the spirit of this anniversary, and following due consultation with the State Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy, I have granted absolute pardon to 130 inmates, while the death sentences of four inmates have been commuted to life imprisonment.
As we celebrate 66 years of independence, may we honour the sacrifices of our heroes past by playing our part in building a stronger nation for generations to come.
Happy Independence Day, Nigeria.
God bless Plateau State.
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

GOVERNOR MUTFWANG HIGHLIGHTS PLATEAU
AGRICULTURE, ENERGY AS POTENTIAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR EUROPEAN INVESTORS
Plateau State Governor, His Excellency , Caleb Manasseh Mutwang, Esq, has called for a new phase of partnership between Plateau State and the European Union, anchored on mutual benefit, investment and the exchange of greater opportunities.
The Governor made the call on Tuesday, September 29,2026 while hosting the Ambassador of the European Union to Nigeria, His Excellency Gautier Mignot, to a state dinner at the Banquet Hall of the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos.
Speaking on the backdrop of the Ambassador's engagements with key institutions in the State, Governor Mutfwang said Plateau was prepared to deepen its relationship with Europe while also positioning its agricultural, energy, educational and cultural assets for international partnerships.
The Governor identified agriculture as one of the sectors where Plateau could build a stronger international partnership, drawing attention to the State's diverse agricultural products and its capacity for expanded production.
"We believe that there are many things that we can offer
Europe as land for agriculture becomes more scarce in Europe. You can be sure that Africa is just beginning investments in agriculture," Governor Mutfwang said.
He said the emerging relationship should be driven by mutual respect and shared interests, rather than a one-sided expectation of assistance.
Governor Mutfwang introduced the EU Ambassador to acha, one of Plateau's indigenous cereals, after observing his appreciation of the meal. He also called for livestock and dairy production as another area with significant potential, noting that Nigeria continues to spend substantial resources importing dairy products despite the opportunities for local production.
Beyond agriculture, the Governor placed energy development high on the partnership agenda, expressing appreciation for the European Union's collaboration in exploring energy solutions for health institutions across the State. He specifically called for the actualisation of the 5-megawatt hydropower project at Assop Falls, supported through UNIDO, saying Plateau looked forward to seeing the project come on stream.
"We hope that we will see that come on stream as soon as possible," Mutfwang said.
He said Plateau had commenced preparations to develop the sector and expressed the State's desire to benefit from European experience and technology in moving towards modern livestock management.
"We hope that with your own experience we will leap from where we are into the mechanized stage of livestock management," he said.
Governor Mutfwang further urged the EU diplomatic community to look beyond Nigeria's major commercial centres and explore Plateau State, recalling earlier and potential European partnerships in agriculture and industry.
Responding, EU Ambassador His Excellency Gautier Mignot, expressed appreciation to Governor Mutfwang for the hospitality extended to him, describing his first visit to Plateau as an experience that had left a strong impression.
"I was very curious to see it firsthand when I heard a lot about the wonderful weather of Plateau State and beautiful landscapes. And I must say I haven't been disappointed at all," the Ambassador said.
He, however, singled out the hospitality of the people as one of the most striking aspects of his visit. "But the hospitality of the people of Plateau State, I think, is what impressed me most in the last three to four hours," he said.
The Ambassador also commended Governor Mutfwang's detailed knowledge of the partnership between Plateau State and the European Union, saying he was impressed by the Governor's understanding of the various areas of cooperation.
"I was very much impressed that His Excellency was fully knowledgeable about our partnership, much more than ours, by the way," Mignot remarked.

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has reaffirmed the Plateau State Government’s commitment to families affected by the violence experienced across parts of the State between March and July 2025.
From Barkin Ladi to Bassa, Bokkos to Mangu, Riyom and other affected communities, families lost loved ones, homes were destroyed, livelihoods were disrupted, and many were forced to leave communities they had called home for decades. Among those affected are farmers, traders, widows, widowers, children, elderly persons and persons living with disabilities.
The Governor noted that the intervention is more than a disbursement of funds; it is an acknowledgement of the pain and losses suffered by affected families and a demonstration that their experiences and future matter to the government.
A total of ₦1.5 billion in humanitarian assistance is being provided to support 1,571 affected heads of households. The intervention comprises ₦1 billion donated by Her Excellency, the First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, and ₦500 million from the Plateau State Government.
Governor Mutfwang expressed profound appreciation to Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, for the generous intervention and for standing with the people of Plateau State at a difficult time.
While acknowledging that no financial assistance can replace a lost loved one or erase the trauma of displacement and destruction, the Governor said the intervention will provide immediate relief and help affected families begin rebuilding their lives and livelihoods.
He further emphasised that the government’s responsibility goes beyond immediate relief. The next phase will focus on restoring livelihoods, supporting farmers to return to their farms, rebuilding affected means of income, and creating the security and peaceful conditions necessary for communities to return home.
Governor Mutfwang has also directed affected communities to submit their priority projects through their respective Local Government Councils to the Interministerial Committee for consideration and action, with the aim of supporting community-led recovery and development.
The Governor stressed that the true measure of the intervention will not simply be the amount disbursed, but whether affected families are able to stand again, livelihoods are restored, and communities can return home safely and with dignity.
The Plateau State Government remains committed to standing with affected families, supporting recovery, facilitating safe return, promoting peaceful coexistence and creating the conditions for sustainable development across the State.

The construction of the Ganawuri–Korafan Road marks another important milestone in the ongoing development of road infrastructure. The project is set to improve connectivity, ease movement, and make transportation more convenient for road users.
The progress of the road construction has been met with appreciation, as people recognize the importance of the project and the positive impact it will have when completed.
The people sincerely appreciate the Governor for his efforts and commitment toward seeing the construction of this important road become a reality.
The historic low for STX/BTC was always 1,000 sats. Last cycle was strange:
(a) Stacks was the first project to cross the previous all-time-high last cycle. It ran as bitcoin beta before the 2024 halving. Earlier/faster than we expected, honestly.
(b) Stacks peaked in Dec 2025 (ten months before the bitcoin peak) and has been in a bear for 20 months already. Much longer than other assets.
(c) This bear Stacks got hit much worse than before. Breaking the historic 1,000 sats line. Even now we are at 300 sats.
With fundamentals at an all-time high, in my view, this is one of the most asymmetric market positions. Not financial advice, but my family office is positioned accordingly.
We think that $0.77 represents what STX/BTC should’ve been at (1,000 sats, the historic low, and BTC at 77,000). That’s roughly a 3x from here. But that is just catching up to going into an ultra-negative zone against BTC.
As bitcoin starts to recover, the market will start looking for the bitcoin beta, and there is just no other asset. See Hal Press 2023 thesis for a detailed breakdown of this.
But the bitcoin beta is just one part, maybe a smaller part now because the real fundamental shift is the launch of bitcoin staking with 5% institutional STX purchase/demand to participate. This simply didn’t exist before and is a 100B-200B market.
I’m writing publicly about this because after the Binance risk monitoring tag I promised to stop being the “humble engineer” and speak my mind. These are my unfiltered thoughts. Not financial advice. Please do your own research. See disclaimers.
In summary, wake me up at $0.77 or more precisely 1,000 sats for STX/BTC and then the next cycle can start.
We’re going back to building. Forward!

“Under My Watch, We Are Not Going to Lose Any Inch of Plateau Land”
Governor Caleb Mutfwang has expressed deep pain and taken responsibility as Chief Security Officer of Plateau State following the murderous attack on the people of Bimpev in Kombu District, where innocent women and children were reportedly slaughtered with knives on Monday night into Tuesday.
The Governor disclosed that security agencies had received intelligence about the impending attack and that necessary measures were taken, yet the attack still occurred.
Taking responsibility for the security failure, he said:
“I stand with pain in my heart as the Chief Security Officer that I must take responsibility for the failure of orders.”
Governor Mutfwang reaffirmed his unwavering commitment to securing Plateau State, declaring that he is prepared to make the ultimate sacrifice if that is what it takes to protect the people.
He also urged Plateau citizens to remain alert and vigilant, noting that the government has not yet accelerated the return of internally displaced persons to their ancestral homes because of prevailing security concerns.
However, he revealed that, beyond the pilot project already underway in Bassa, elaborate arrangements have been made to commence an aggressive programme to return displaced citizens to their ancestral communities as soon as the rains are over.
The Governor stressed that the mission is bigger than politics:
“This is not politics. I often tell people I'm not a politician. I happen to be in politics by necessity, and I came with only one mission: that I will make Plateau better than I met it.”
The commitment remains clear: protect the people, reclaim every inch of Plateau territory, and build a safer Plateau for all.
