I’m moving to Bluesky. If I’ve unfollowed you here, it’s probably because I’ve followed you there so I can keep track of things. If you’re there and I haven’t followed you, let me know where to find you.

Pope Leo and Bob Dylan look like they're starring in an early '90s CBS drama in which two priests - one by the book and one who does things his own way - try to solve mysteries in their seemingly sleepy Midwestern town that hides a seedy underbelly.

FWIW this is false and Alaska Senate is >95% likely to go to Peltola at this point — Sullivan is completely screwed given what's left.
Sen. Dan Sullivan's campaign says it's projecting him to win in Alaska once it goes ranked choice "despite a bloodbath for Republicans everywhere else"

Here's a fun one. Based on the count so far, Democratic candidates for Senate did nearly 5 points better (in margin) relative to 2024 in counties where Trump held a rally in Oct/Nov, compared to directly adjacent counties in the same state.
What a pathetic anonymous quote. You’re too embarrassed to put your name on the company line to not cross Trump, who just lost Mississippi. Pathetic.

Trump is a toxic narcissist. He isn’t going to fade quietly in the background in two years. The GOP nominee in 2028 is going to be fighting for the spotlight with this clown the entire cycle.

Voters are complicated beings.
Detroit’s Virginia Jackson says she was going to vote for Mike Rogers, “but when Haley Stevens did what she did, it changed my mind back to Abdul. You use the Black church to try to convince me that Rogers is the right one? Oh no, no.” Jackson says she also voted for John James.

Trump and Blanche are putting their greasy thumbs on the scale, just as we suspected they’d try.

Inject this right into my veins.

To me, this seems to indicate that voters are having to pivot because voting methods have been made unstable. I voted in person today because I didn’t trust mailing my ballot this time. I had voted by mail every election since COVID until today.
More than 57 million people have already voted — more than any recent midterm. Whether that becomes record turnout is a different question, and it gets answered tonight. Mail-in voting fell 13%. In-person early voting rose 46%. With @andrewvandam washingtonsun.com/campaigns/…

Real talk: imagine telling someone merely a MONTH ago Democrats would be narrow favorites in freaking KANSAS. Absolute wild ride of an election. Frankly incredible how Dems keep pulling banger candidates out of nowhere, while Rs keep nominating disasters.

“As of this morning, many members of our team have resigned, including myself. We encourage everyone to exercise their civic duty, vote for Abdul and Democrats up and down the ballot, and stand up for the America we all believe.”
New: Statement from Haley Stevens’ chief of staff Justin German confirms many of her team have resigned & they back Abdul El-Sayed for #MISen “We are shocked and heartbroken by Congresswoman Stevens’ decision to support Mike Rogers.”

I know @HaleyforMI way better than most people on X. She and I came into Congress together in 2018. She was co-Prez of our freshman class. She was incredibly kind to me when my late partner died; she organized a big group of our class to come to the House floor to support me when I spoke about his suicide. We were roommates in 2023, after my wonderful first roomie lost her election; both my adult kids know Haley well and are on a texting basis with her. We’ve socialized and we have good friends in common. While she and I differ on one impt issue, specifically Israel and AIPAC support, I’ve never publicly challenged her on those things, because I felt that her good points outweighed the issues I disagreed with her on. Today, that changes. 👇 Haley’s endorsement of Rogers in the MI senate race is appalling. Not because he’s a Republican, but because what he stands for is what she, and I, and our caucus has fought so hard against. Rogers is a 100% anti-choice politician. He is a Trump loyalist. He’s shown his Islamophobia in his many remarks against @AbdulElSayed, and with this endorsement, Haley has shown that she agrees with his positions. I’m shocked by Haley’s endorsement. I’m terribly sad and disappointed. I’m furious and will be more so if we lose the MI senate race. So many people in the Democratic Party have shown so much support to Haley over the years, and she has betrayed them all. If this is because of her new relationship (about which many of us were so happy for her after she lost the primary), all I can say is that any woman who abandons her friends when a new guy comes along is no friend at all. The fallout for Haley won’t just be in Dem politics; she will be a pariah among her friends in the Democratic caucus in Congress. Only she will be able to decide whether it was worth it.

Hey in case anyone's waffling here. Keep Mike Rogers far, far away from the US Senate.
🚨 BREAKING: Mike Rogers confirmed in a new interview that he would vote for a national abortion ban: "I've been very open about that time I was in Congress, having a 100% pro-life rating... This is the only way that I know how to be when I go back to the United States Senate."

Democrats dodged a bullet by refusing to make Haley Stevens their nominee in Michigan. She’d have been another Fetterman. Her career in politics is over.

Expect lots more of this kind of bullshit. Claims that early voting numbers are such that Democrats can win only by cheating. Early voting numbers are pretty useless as a predictor of final tallies, BTW.
🚨🚨🚨🚨This means it's pretty much over for the Democrats in Arizona this election unless they engage in the most blatant obvious cheating. I've lived here half my life, was the former Maricopa County Elections attorney, and have NEVER seen Republicans equal the Democrats with ballot returns before an election, because they are more likely to vote in person on Election Day than Democrats. And I just heard Republicans are now ahead. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Unearthed documents just revealed Ken Paxton, as Attorney General, protected a research lab that tortured 400 puppies. Paxton was also one of the only Texas lawmakers to vote against a bill to hold animal abusers accountable.
