Spire Nottingham Hospital has confirmed that it has withdrawn its sponsorship of the Quorn Hunt's Ingarsby Chase following serious allegations arising from drone footage filmed by @NhantsHuntsabs. In an email sent today, 20 October, the hospital stated: "𝗜𝗻 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗼𝗿𝗻 𝗛𝘂𝗻𝘁, 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗵𝗮𝗺 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗯𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲." This follows our exposé this morning showing Quorn Hunt staff repeatedly encouraging hounds to seize and tear at a fox, before pushing the body underneath hay bales after one of the terriermen spotted the drone. Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) are being issued more and more to hunts. Whilst soft in their approach, they send a message to hunts that their criminality both in the fields and on the roads is finally being noticed. But what the wildlife needs is - action, not warnings. The use of CPW’s must not replace or delay enforcement action where evidence of wrongdoing exists. With the news that the Dartmoor Hunt have recently received one such CPW, we take a look back at last season, and just a fraction of the criminality that went on when they were out 'trail hunting'. Despite the recent reports from Three Counties Hunt Saboteurs detailing the sickening kill which happened at The Heythrop Hunt on the 18th of September, Conservative leader Kemi Badenoch has yet again spoken out of her support for hunting. Earlier this year she attended the Heythrop's point-to-point fundraising event, rubbing shoulders with the likes of huntsman Ollie Dale, a notorious hunt thug (who assaulted a female - receiving a conditional caution). The recent kill by The Heythrop took place in Lower Swell, Gloucestershire and despite Dale running away with the dead fox, blood and internal body parts remained at the scene. Yet despite this Kemi continues to voice her support for these criminals, showing just how out of touch she is with the public, including those who live in rural communities who suffer greatly at the hands of hunts. We recently wrote about previous stag kills along the same stretch of the River Barle (link in comments below) - and now it has happened again. These animals are chased to exhaustion - often over hours - before being killed, with parts of the dead stag taken as trophies. Pursuing an exhausted animal to death, with horse, dogs, quads, and frothy-mouthed supporters is 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 either. The shocking moment hunt follower and convicted huntsman Wayne Greggory (from the Vale of Taunton and Banwell Harriers) attempted to turn back a fleeing terrified stag to the Quantock Staghounds, forcing the stag to make a dramatic leap across a public highway to the safety of the land opposite which is out of bounds to the hunt. Eggesford Hunt terrierman Tom Bounsall was convicted of careless driving after his quad struck a hunt saboteur from Devon County Hunt Saboteurs during an Eggesford meet. That wasn't his only conviction. On the very same day that Eggesford huntsman Jason Marles was convicted of illegally hunting a fox, Bounsall was also convicted over a separate incident with another hunt saboteur from Plymouth & West Devon Hunt Sabs during a Spooners & West Dartmoor meet..
